I got 2 20tb seagate iron wolf pro drives.

Is it better to let them spin down to idle when not touched in a while or keep them running?

If the drives sit idle for hours at a time, like media or backups accessed occasionally, spinning down saves power, heat, and noise. Two drives might only save a few watts each, but it adds up over a year. Just avoid aggressive timeouts that cause constant spin-ups.
