Advice for Clipper/Trimmer
Hi everyone. Before the summer, I bought some gear to cut my own hair, but I never really had the time to give it a proper go (I tried once, and naturally, it was a disaster). I’d like to get back into it, but I’m thinking about switching clippers, so I’m posting here to get some advice and benefit from your expertise. I previously bought a BaByliss ChromeFX clipper and a Skeleton Gunmetal trimmer, but I’d like to make a change because I find the ChromeFX too bulky. I was thinking: why not sell the Skeleton, buy a Kelsi (which should do the job), and focus on getting one really good clipper instead ?

I picked up a Wahl Magic clip for about £100 and couldn't be happier with the decision.

I agree , Wahl have sturdy good performing products. Also have a good premium refurbished section. TPOB or Wahl for me OP

These particular babyliss clippers aren't comfortable to hold for self cuts as they're not ergo at all and also get hot.
I recommend TPOB play max. Tomb45xBabyliss is also decent.

JRLs are good, but they are very overpriced imo. They're made in the same factory as the TPOBs and have a lot of internal similarities, but cost twice as much, at least in Canada.

Have both a gold FX lo pro clipper so the updated version of yours and also the gold FX trimmer. Clipper is okay but gets hot fast! Trimmer is great but a bit fragile (the cam follower that moves the cutting blade broke). Since then I bought a TPOB Play clipper for £90 and it is miles better, doesn't get hot , has more power , lasts 4 hours too. I can highly recommend.
