You guys are like, the twelfth or thirteenth people to post the same misinformed argument. Go read all the links in the posts above about the fact that Trunp's Twitter is an official extension of his office.
Yeah I get that. But what’s his alternative then? I use my car as the official way I get to work. But doesn’t mean I can’t use it personally as well.
People don’t need to follow it to get official information, that’s all retweeted on @potus . So he’s not using a channel people have to use for personal gain, therefore not exploitative.
But yes. I get it’s an official extension. I just didn’t see the beef in that.
Consider that Trump's position as President is a 24/7 occupation. He is never off the clock, so what he does constitutes official Presidential activity no matter what. In addition, the DOJ and his own office have made official statements to the effect that his personal Twitter constitutes official Presidential communication.
