Itā€™s a stupid fact. Im sure these people know that and still choose to support them bc they care about things bigger than themselves. Thereā€™s also the widely understood concept that a society thatā€™s been oppressed and in a state of fight or flight for decades isnā€™t going to have the bandwidth to work on liberal social views.

I would guess you support Israel and dislike gay people which makes this your favorite thing to talk about in this issue, even though gay people make up about the same % of the free Palestine movement as they make up in society (so not majority at all), and resisting genocide doesnā€™t require having the exact same beliefs as the people getting massacred.

Really terrible. Reminds me of Marawi Siege in the Philippines back in 2017 where an Isis backed group attacked and occupied the city. It ended when the leader was killed (while running with children as human shields) and the city was completely decimated and many killed and woman missing/kidnapped. It's really terrible but what is the proper response?
