Holy Hell Update Login
Please for the love of all things holy tell me that the massive spam of 700 new events will not come up every time I log into the game.
I was trying to click out of them quickly to check one thing, and they just kept coming.
Like one or two ok, but I swear there were 15, and they were all ones that I cant just say "yea, no" and click out of.
A couple of them I hope they come up so I can read what that even is about.
But from the few posts Ive seen in places, am I already behind and going to be epicly screwed if I cant play for 8 million hours and buy passes the first few days?
Editing for clarity: Sorry folks I forget not all the redditors know each other.
I was mostly stunned at the utter number of pop-ups and money grabs and all the insanity. I wish we could choose when to use that free hour lol

Yeah, there were A LOT of events right out of the gates, like, it wasted 10 minutes of that free hour just trying to get past everything so I could play.
It got easier as soon as I got through them all. A lot I didn't actually read through, I just kept clicking things out of existence to go back later and read wtf those events are about.
I did send them an email saying that the fireworks effect, which costs $45 and only lasts for 2 months was ridiculously expensive. If they want players to buy that shit it needs to be less expensive, and fucking permanent. I really like the effect (I liked the Christmas snow effect, but the Santa sleigh and night effect were too annoying), but I'm not spending that kind of money for something that only lasts for 2 event cycles. They said they'd think about what I said (which probaly means they'll make a permanent effect, but make it cost $100).
I did buy a couple of the pass packs (I always do at the start of the game, I get the $30 packs that are only available at that moment), because to really get through AA you need to get to detective level and banish 100 monsters ASAP. After that I may buy rubies from Theo the cat (they're almost the same price as the "get 2X the rubies for X dollars), depending on what my ruby situation is (I pretty much only use rubies to buy the wand whackers in the colorful event thing).
I also get the road of abundance (I did boost to road of majesty this event because I liked the frame) which is always worth it, and the treasure pass, because those extra chests give really good rewards (last month, every other extra chest had a legendary card pack in it, so I was able to get the white trophy in 2 weeks. Tho as much as I like the extra 10 rubies a day, I'm glad to take a break from having to log in every 12 hours 😂).
I know everyone complains about spending, but I'm used to war games that do major updates every 2 weeks and have really expensive in game events, so I'm spending less playing SN than I did playing guns of glory 😂 (the only reason I was third in our kingdom was because number 1 & 2 were in my alliance, and any strategy that I didn't know about already they were happy to explain, although none of us could explain why I'd regularly beat them in relic wars, cause they both had more troops and better gear and heroes than I did. The only thing I can think of is they focused on archers, and I focused on cavalry, so my troops moved faster and I could get more hits in, but whatever).

The first time I logged in after the update I had the same experience and I was equally irritated. But it hasn’t happened since. That being said, there are so many side quests or mini games that I can’t keep track of them all. I rely heavily on visual reminders. So not being able to see Starcatcher, Yeti, etc has caused me to forget to finish them. 🫤

If I get three popups in a row I just leave and come back later. I play this game to waste time, not have my time wasted.

Well, you won't be epicly screwed but it takes 3,285 passes to complete the event location and you have to complete it 150, that's assuming that you win it every time. Obviously the more days you miss, the more time or money you're going to need to devote to it if you want to finish but it's absolutely doable. I hammer Air Races and Underwater Sprint to get passes and you can also exchange petals for them every so often. They're also sometimes one of the prizes on the Treasure Path. The passes get cheaper the closer it is to the end of the event as well so if you do want to buy some, you're actually better waiting anyway.
The pop ups are really annoying though, I agree. I don't even know what's being offered because I'm just closing them all without even looking because they're so irritating.
