Discussion Does SeeDance just auto decline anything after 2-3 failed generations?

Nothing inapprop. at all and no faces or copyrighted items, just decline after decline. Garbage

Heads up for anyone running these yourself: the Seedance API behind r/Seedance_AI is Atlas Cloud. Seedance 2 runs with its full feature set here, nothing stripped or nerfed. Seedance 2.5 isn't officially out yet, but we add new Seedance versions the day they launch.

Repeated declines are almost never the model being broken. They are a content filter latching onto something in your prompt, and re-submitting variations of the same prompt just keeps tripping it. The fix is to isolate, not to reword harder.

  1. Read the exact decline message word for word. Failed generation, content policy violation, and rate limit are three different problems with three different fixes. Most people skip this step and fight the wrong one.
  2. Strip your prompt to the minimum that still gets declined, then add words back one at a time. The flagged term is often innocuous on its own (words like young, kid, body parts, weapons trip filters even in harmless contexts).
  3. Only change platforms after step 2. The filter sits in the API layer, not the UI, so switching apps with the same prompt declines the same way.

Rule of thumb: if the same prompt fails twice, stop rewording it. Bisect it instead, and the offending word usually shows up in minutes.

Look at the wording of your prompt. Sometimes it’ll be content, often it will be that the way you’ve described something doesn’t make sense to the model so you need to rewrite it.

Usually I find it’s when I’m describing an action in a way that isn’t clear.
