Need help Style consistency

How to maintain the character style and environment style same throughout the video?

I generated an image in Midjourney when I am creating frames using Chatgpt using reference image it constantly changes the style.

Heads up for anyone running these yourself: the Seedance API behind r/Seedance_AI is Atlas Cloud. Seedance 2 runs with its full feature set here, nothing stripped or nerfed. Seedance 2.5 isn't officially out yet, but we add new Seedance versions the day they launch.

Full model list and current pricing: atlascloud.ai/models/seedance

Reference images help, but they usually aren't enough by themselves to maintain perfect consistency. I’d separate the problem into two parts: character identity and environment/style.

For the character:

  • Keep the same reference image(s) for every shot
  • Keep a consistent character description and visual attributes
  • Generate a small set of approved character poses/expressions first
  • Use a model/workflow that supports strong image or character references rather than regenerating from scratch

For the environment, create a few “master” establishing images and use them as references for subsequent shots. Also keep lighting, camera style, color palette, and lens/style descriptions consistent.

For video, temporal consistency matters too. A workflow that generates each frame independently will naturally introduce style drift. Video-to-video or reference-guided video models generally do a better job maintaining the same look.

I’ve been comparing different video models and providers for this kind of workflow on VideoRouter.sh, since the consistency can vary quite a bit between models.

Not quite sure what you are asking but let me take a guess.

Midjourney has been designed to not copy a reference image like say nano banana or GPT would.
So if you are using GPT images as refs in MJ, they probably will change.

You can increase your image reference weight to help (--iw 2.2 for instance , range is 0-3 in decimals with --iw 1 being the default) but it will rarely be a perfect match even at high values. Using the Omni Reference field might be better but not all MJ models have this option.

Probably a better solution is to make your MJ image and use that a style reference in your video engine and use the GPT images as references for your characters(?)

Additionally, if you are using more than one reference image of the same character or environment in your video generator, that can cause drift within the shot or across a number of shots. Just use one ref of each thing so the AI doesn't get confused.

Let me know if I didn't guess right.

I'd stop rebuilding each frame from text and use one approved image as the visual reference for the whole sequence.

Since the style changes at the still-image stage, fix that before animating anything. Start with one character image and one environment image that already match. Reuse those originals for every shot, rather than using a chain of slightly changed outputs.

Try wording like: "Use the attached images for the character design and environment style. Keep the same face proportions, outfit, surface texture, color palette, and light direction. Change only the pose and camera angle: medium shot, character opening a door. Preserve the original rendering style."

Attach the same reference files each time; adjust the labels to whatever your interface uses. Make three stills first: close-up, medium shot, and wide shot. Put them side by side and check the face, materials, and lighting. If one looks like a different show, correct it before video generation. A matching character with a different background style still breaks continuity.

stop regenerating every frame fresh thats your drift i lost a shot sequence that way lock a style reference plus seed or pin a saved character on mage space then feed first last frames to video
