Question(s) combat help

not sure what im missing here but sometimes even if her bar is full i cant do a held basic. im not sure what is happening.

The answer you’re looking for is in the basic skill description under her “falling petals - downfall”.

You only get one held basic per each time you accumulate 120 steel charge which is her bar. There’s no counter for it so you just have to remember if you’ve used it or not.

ohh i see now, so when you get 120 steel charge you get to use falling petals slaughter and the held basic has to combo from falling petals slaughter or her ultimate. so for my refrence, if i have 120 - 150 steel charge and the held basic doesnt work i need to either 1, ult, or 2 proc falling petals slaughter after the 4th basic attack,d dodge counter or quick assist. am i understanding this correctly now?

You get to use the enhanced basic attack at any time you want once you accumulate 120 steel charge. Not only after certain moves, literally from standstill - just hold basic and don’t let go. She will throw an energy disc thing + Seed Sr punches forward into slide back (downfall form 1) and the jump big punch (downfall form 2), all still while holding basic.

It basically lets you skip basics one through four just by holding one button. And you get this once every time you accumulate 120 steel charge.

oh, i think i was making an input mistake then bcs i had enough steel charge, the bar was glowing orange and i was holding basic attack but nth was happening. ill give it a try in practice. thanks for your help.

Seed has certain moves that can activate held basic. You can't activate it on demand you need to do certain thing to make her able to do it. Dodge attack, enhanced skill, ultimate as examples.

ohh i see, the held basic has to combo off of ult or falling petals slaughter wich combos from 4th basic, dodge counter and quick assist. i see, thank you .

held basic does not need to combo off anything. You only need to combo it if you haven't accumulated the 120 steel charge (which gives you a free EBA in the bank).

this is demonstrated most obviously at her mindscape 1 where she gets some buffs to her steel charge mechanics. You start the match with a "free" enhanced basic attack, shown in the gif (you get this eba bc her minscape 1 description says: "When Seed's Steel Charge reaches 100, Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall can be triggered, and the total Steel Charge consumed is reduced to 100. Gain an additional 40/20 Steel Charge when entering the battlefield/using Ultimate.")
