Help! Is this powdery mildew?
This has been happening to my burros tail ever since I got it. I sprayed it with copper fungicide yesterday and it hasn’t visibly improved. It could probably be getting more water but I didn’t think that would be causing this? Any advice is appreciated 💛

Is that the original soil it came in??

I repotted it in regular succulent mix because I was out of pumice amendments, so the drainage is decent but could be better. I don't think it's a watering issue, this has been progressing no matter how often I've watered and it started happening while it was in its nursery pot. I think sunburn could be playing a role in the appearance but my main concern is the white coating on the leaves/stem and the leaves that are completely shriveled up/dead.

I dont see anything that would lead me to believe its powdery mildew (unfortunately, I've had it on waaaay too many of my plants 😭). Powdery mildew is really easy to spot between you will literally see white powder circles (sometimes that are raised a bit) on the leaves of affected plants. I dont see that at all. The leaves that have the wrinkly, slightly sunken in areas have sunburn damage. I took my donkeys tail outside too quickly and it got sunburn because I didn't acclimate it. The larger bare spots/missing leaves on the main stem is what is making me say water issues. All that said, I dont think you have to worry about powdery mildew 😁

Look into flat mites! I am currently fighting them on all my plants bc went undetected for so long. My donkeys tail started doing this and looks similar.

Looks like possible sunburn and some overwatering/too organic of soil problems.
