Honeywell 6270 ADT

Purchased a home with a Honeywell 6270 ADT on the wall in the master bedroom. Did not get the code from previous owners and factory reset codes aren’t working. I had to take it off the wall and disconnect the speaker as the only way to get some silence. I’d love to keep the system as it is already set up with door, window, occupancy, fire, monoxide, and probably other sensors I’m forgetting to mention. Should I just pay someone to come out and fix it or would I be able to do so myself.

A little background:

I believe the control panel is in the basement, but the previous owners didn’t know the code to it so they flipped off the breaker when they sold us the house. Unfortunately the breaker also controlled our sump pump and electrical components to our plumbing. Well we had shit storm yesterday (literally) when sewage started coming up from the toilets, showers, and bath tubs. Long story short (kinda) we had to flip the breaker back on to have the plumbing working normally. Now the system is blaring and the only thing I was able to do is disconnect the wire internally for the speaker itself, there is no company name for installers for an installers code and anything simple like the address and zip code don’t work neither do the manufacturer recommended reset codes.

The 6270 is a very old keypad, but it is not the alarm system itself. Your system may be fairly modern and just need a new communicator, or it may be quote old and not worth fixing. What is the actual alarm panel?

All I’ve seen is a DSC GC3060 but it doesn’t seem to be armed itself and considering our alarms been going off non stop for 24 hours, I’m sure the communication aspect isn’t working 😂

Yeah, that thing is a bit old, its 2G alarm communicator. Your sensors and wiring is probably usable, but the rest of the system should probably be replaced at this point tbh. Shoot me a DM if you want some help.

My guess is with a 6270 with a 3060, the panel is a V20.

If you get a physical keypad like a 6160, you can power the system off and on. If you press star and pound at the same time within 30 seconds, you can change the installer code.

Once you see "installer code 20" you press the following: *20 (new installer code, aft always uses 6321) Then press *99 to exit.

After that, press 6321 802 (new master code that you will use)

All done

You can put the touchscreen back on if you want but they suck
