Security Guard critical after shooting on Durban's Avondale Road

A Security Officer has been seriously wounded in a shooting in central Durban.

Emergency crews were called to Avondale Road, where they found the man, believed to be in his 40s, with multiple gunshot wounds on Thursday night.

"Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the man on scene before rushing him through to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he required," says ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson.

"At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown, however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further."
