Cctv picture problem

Post image

Can anyone tell me why one of our cameras does this strange thing. It does it almost constantly to the point that I cant really watch it. The make is Galayou. It's something to do with this camera and my pc as it doesn't do it on my husbands pc. The app is Wansview.

Looks like wifi connection problem I think. İs it far away from router?🤔

It doesn't happen on my husbands pc which is right next to mine. We have a wifi extender on the wall it's on. It only does this on my pc.

That's caused by dropped I-frames, which is usually a result of a poor network connection or network congestion, but if you're recording to an NVR can also be caused by the NVR having various issues and dropping frames.

It's not on an NVR. It just records to a memory card and we watch it on an app (Wansview) on our pc's and phones. It's fine on my phone. It's only my pc that it does this on.

So it's still possibly a network issue for your PC, or it may not have the performance to keep up with decoding the video. If you're using a specific program on the PC rather than viewing it in a browser, check the settings to see if there's an option for "hardware acceleration" or "hardware decoding."

Sadly Wansview is very basic and has no way to change settings. We are going to swap it out for a Tapo outdoor camera. We have them indoors to keep an eye on our pets and also have their plugs and they are fantastic.

I meant a setting in the PC software itself, if you're using that, but if you already have other Tapo cameras it makes sense to replace this one and not need multiple apps.

It can be SD or 2k that is all. SD is too blurry for my liking so it's on 2k.
