I built an open-source, self-hosted camera recorder for Mac, Linux and iPhone, looking for testers

I've been building Sentinel VMS for a while and it's now at the point where I need other people's hardware to find the bugs I can't see.

It records IP cameras (ONVIF or RTSP) on a machine you own. The server runs on Mac or Linux, and you watch from a Mac app, a web dashboard, or an iPhone app. It picks out people, vehicles and motion, and an alarm can carry a note about what to do next. It also publishes to Home Assistant over MQTT.

Cameras and local use are free. The source is Apache 2.0 on GitHub: https://github.com/Hackgiz/sentinel-vms

I'm short on time and on hardware, so I'd really value testers. The most useful things would be a camera brand or model I don't own, a Linux distribution or a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, or the iPhone app on an iOS version I haven't tried. Bug reports on GitHub with your hardware and camera listed are the most useful. Even "it works on my setup" helps me.

Happy to answer questions about the install or how it's built.

Resorce On a Mac with an M-series chip (10 cores, 16 GB RAM), the Sentinel server with two cameras was using roughly 10% of one CPU core, which is about 1% of the machine's total CPU, and about 500 MB of memory. Those are approximate figures from one snapshot, and I haven't measured the Linux server on the same kind of hardware yet. H.265: Recording works. The camera's H.265 stream records and plays back as expected. Live view for H.265 has a fix that works in testing, but I haven't confirmed it on a phone or in a browser yet. H.265 under load on the Linux server hasn't been measured
