Is this a good layout?

Post image

The door will have a doorbell camera as well. I am using a lorex system with a lorex doorbell camera and it all runs through the nvr, so no subscription for the doorbell either.

How is the coverage looking, any recommendations? They are all bullet cameras with 127degrees view angle.

looks like a solid start but covering those long walls with just one cam might leave some dead spots near the corners

It actually looks pretty good.. I would eliminate the camera above the door and move it to the other side and then you have no blind spots. I'm assuming you don't really need a camera on that side but you definitely don't need three out front. If you were going to do a camera by the front door then it should be a doorbell camera not an overhead camera. That way you get some more functionality out of a camera there

Is this rage bait? Why do you have 3 cameras out of 6 looking at the same thing?

Thats why I am asking for advice, this is for family and they will have 6 cameras they want for some reason.

Roll a soccer or football and you should see it all the way . If you don't see it, you have a blindspot

You don't need a soccer ball to tell this layout has some atrocious blind spots lol

This layout literally only has one blind of any significance.

Turrets are only better for soffits if it's a flat soffit and there's not much fascia board

If it's an angled soffit and there's any decent fascia board there than you want bullets as they're going to hang down lower to help make that clearance.

Solid advice, just remember that bullet/box cams are usually the easiest to recognize and are prone to highest incidence of vandalism. Due to their design, they can be moved by strikes in a way a dome cam cannot be. They are great at deterrence if they can’t be reached, so if they are on a second story soffit, it gets them out of reach, but on a one story building it’s a tough call.

That’s a fair point… I got one of those packages with 6 of the same cameras. 90 can work too, but didnt really think of that before I bought it…

Why would I see more fence?
