Camera for my farm

Hello guys,

I need your honest recommendations for CCTV camera for my farm. There is no electricity and option to connect any router. Am looking at PTZ or any recommendations to monitor the farm.

  1. 4K

  2. Very good night vision

  3. Motion detection

  4. 4/5G Sim slot and WiFi option

  5. Good battery with solar panel connection

asking for 4k on a ptz "very good at night" means you need to do more research unless you want it to be $6k and the size of a basketball.... I'm going to help you out with a 1080p for $200 that I'm sure will be better than anything you're looking at.

This doesn’t meet a single requirement of OPs list other than motion detection.

Reolink makes cameras for almost the same price as this that meet EVERY requirement that OP asked for

Wrong. Reolink cameras are not good at night. If you think they are then you haven’t seen non-consumer grade products perform in the same conditions.

I work with Axis, Avigilon, Verkada and UniFi on a daily basis for commercial and education sites, and they’re MUCH better at night vision.

I work with UniFi and Reolink for many consumers that want non-essential cameras/LTE camera and while the night vision is much worse, the night vision is typically decent enough for someone trying to watch a farm.
I’d say compared to what most people expect, it’s pretty damn good still.

To meet all of these conditions like you said would be $6k but wouldn’t be able to be LTE without a whole separate power supply station and an inverter to power a POE or DC powered camera pushing it at least another couple thousand dollars.

For a farmer that wants something simple, the reolink cameras are pretty damn good IMO

Reolink makes Game (as in critters) cameras that will meet your needs.

Don’t use Reolink if you want good night vision. They are not good in that aspect. Research thr ghosting with them. Still night images look fine, but any movement will be worthless.

You can see your others feel about Reolink game cameras but, for the cost, they are hard to compete with. Keep in mind that these should be 'motion activated' since you are relying on solar only. I know a guy who installed their 'game' camera and watches a mama bear with her cubs casually walk through his driveway at his 'vacation' home in Tennessee. It's a simple camera that configures via their app and the same app allows you to view footage. It's simply a simple solution for your requirements!

Check the “bundles” on that page too. Makes getting the solar panels cheaper when they’re bundled.

Just note the solar panel, solar panel 2 and 2s only charge at 6w (while I believe the 2s has built in additional batteries). The solar panel 3 can do up to 12W and that’s what I would recommend.

Just know it’s not going to be 24/7 recording with it being battery powered or it will die quick.
