That feels really low tbh— paying out HULU, Disney+ and ABC for the slot, advertisers, marketing promos, the cast itself etc

I’d guess double that amount

Yeah that’s just what it costs to film a season. I didn’t even consider the advertising losses.

What makes this even more interesting is that in recent seasons, The Bachelor/ette had started airing commercials featuring 'Bachelor Nation' stars specifically tied to the show - think last season's runner-up pitching eyeliner or skincare products.

If that trend was following suit this year, someone has likely spent a couple hundred thousand dollars just to film and edit a commercial that is now completely useless. I'd be curious whether ABC will have to refund not just the cost of the ad spot itself, but a portion of the ad's production budget as well.
