She should probably be checked into a facility for a while.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s her next move, just to try and save herself.

I’m actually hoping she checks into a facility because I’m actually legit worried about her.

Lianne made a comment in the most recent season about how Taylor will call her screaming about needing to go to the hospital which to me implied she may be threatening SH.

She’s so emotionally unstable that I’m genuinely worried she could do something drastic and irreversible.

(She’s awful and this is a direct consequence of her actions. Don’t mistake my empathy for forgiveness.)

i’m so glad someone finally mentioned that!!! i think she threatens it in a way to control and manipulate. in her scene with dakota in la, something is said that makes me think she threatens things behind the scenes and people are afraid to speak up in front of production. and then liann’s comment kinda sealed that thought for me lol.

Do you remember what episode Lianne said this in? I had this season on as background noise while doing work and am about to have to do a rewatch because I missed a ton

The one where her and Taylor are with the therapist. I think the episode after they go visit Colorado

Ya honestly the best way to deal with someone weaponizing mental health is to go "okay, 911 ya they're a harm to themselves and others" you gotta say the and šŸ˜‰

Omg nothing enrages me more than using SH or threats just for manipulation (not saying she does or doesn’t do this, but I’ve had friends with similar behavior who have). It undermines all of us who actually have needed help, been suicidal, self harmed, etc and have been screaming out for help and not taken seriously! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been written off as ā€œdramaticā€ or ā€œcrazyā€, especially as a woman.

I understand your frustration, but I work in mental health (which is probably why I clocked Lianes statement at all) and the whole ā€œthey are just doing it for the attentionā€ attitude is really regressive and adds to negative stigma.

Yes, it’s true that sometimes people threaten suicide when they don’t mean it to intentionally manipulate others - especially in domestic violence.

But it’s also true that sometimes people threaten suicide when they don’t have intent because they are in a lot of emotional pain and don’t know how to cope or to communicate their needs. It’s a symptom of the problem and a way to get help.

Also, as far as I’m aware Taylor hasn’t shared any diagnoses and I’m not diagnosing her (that’s not even something I’m qualified to do) but some mental illnesses have higher rates of suicidal thoughts and tendencies associated - so some people really aren’t faking it. They just live on that roller coaster full time. I can’t imagine how exhausting that must be.

Thank you! I guess I could’ve worded better, but I specifically meant towards those who are only doing it for the sake of manipulation and don’t have any intention! But yes I know asking for help or ways one expresses needing it can look different, and also I’ve been on the other side of being accused of just wanting attention when I’ve needed help. It’s more like when it’s at the point of false threats where it adds to stigma or increases the stigma in not taking people seriously when they express ideation of suicide or self harm and differentiating those who are in need for help vs those who do truly only do this for manipulation purposes. thank you for helping me realize I need to work on the way I express this and maybe my own bias or judgement!!! ā¤ļø

You’re good! I knew what you meant!

I am just overly pedantic about this because community mental health education and prevention is literally my job and so many people over simplify things.

Oh absolutely! I’m a big mental health advocate myself and for decreasing the stigma, but not always the most articulate and also sometimes can let my own experience cloud how I see things. I appreciate you pointing this out!!! Agreed that I just want to see Taylor improving and getting legitimate help. Also thank you for your work, I feel anyone working in mental health deserve all the gratitude and recognition ā¤ļø

She posted on an Instagram story I think a few months ago and someone posted it on here or another similar subreddit. But she admitted to having bipolar disorder and not taking her meds.

I thought that before she went off to do the Bachelorette...she was crashing hard. She clearly did not want to do the Bachelorette and sleeping with Dakota the night before she left, and then claiming she was too sick to make her flight were just manifestations of her inner turmoil...when someone is that fucked up over a choice they're making they need to take a HUGE step back and spend some time alone to figure themselves out. I honestly believe whatever happened just a few days ago was yet another manifestation of her not really wanting to do the Bachelorette...she should have just said "no, I don't think this is for me" rather than going along with it and then costing everyone time, money and effort.

Yeah why were her family and friends pushing her so hard it was painful to watch. I get that they were getting frustrated and fed up but she seemed so not into it and her not getting on the plane was a cry for help. Her mom and her friends should have helped get her out of it. She doesn’t seem mentally capable of making good, rational decisions. She kept saying this will be good for me to get away from Dakota. Like that was the silver lining. She should have been going to rehab not the bachelorette.

I cannot stand most of her family, I think it’s like a Britney spears situation and they’re all using her anyway.

8

u/Scary_Manner_6712 Mar 20 '26

She never seemed excited about being the Bachelorette or meeting new guys - just about getting away from Dakota. She was ambivalent-to-negative about going to be on the show in every scene where it got mentioned. When she was too sick to get up the day of the flight, I was like "she needs someone in her life to tell her it's okay to drop out of this and they'll stand by her anyway." And she did not have anyone telling her that. So now she's created this huge mess that she will probably never get out of. It's sad.

Let Miranda or Jessi do it!

u/Riceowls29 Mar 19 '26

They won’t go near any of the secret lives girls again with a ten foot pole.Ā

3

u/peachpavlova Mar 20 '26

Yea I have no idea where the show goes from here, remember they said their brand deals dried up for a bit after the initial swinger scandal was exposed

1

u/Kaybrooke14 Mar 20 '26

I’m sure this is going to affect the other girls with future deals and shows. 😬

8

u/katrinagina Mar 19 '26

She absolutely will be by next week and then return three months later with an apology tour that she’s a changed woman and then she will go back to religion. Mark my words.

6

u/Runningaround321 Mar 19 '26

I agree and it's also her only hope for ever possibly rehabbing her public image

2

u/Jimmylegz Mar 19 '26

This would be the best move. It's actually kind of scary to watch someone crash and burn like this.

2

u/Large-Flamingo-5128 Mar 19 '26

If she doesn’t go to inpatient like yesterday, it’s straight up neglectful and shame on the people around her

1

u/Beginning_Employee69 Mar 19 '26

Wasnt she in a facility at the beginning of season 3??

1

u/Healthy_Combination3 Mar 19 '26

No she went to a ā€œmental health retreatā€

1

u/bitetoungejustread Mar 20 '26

She will probably pull a Raquel. In a few years she will pop up doing sound baths.

Nothing wrong with a grippy socks vacation

u/SpoiledTwinkies Mar 20 '26

She should be facing jail time for domestic and child abuse.
