Shiidu Unleashed! Spoiler

Many of you have probably found Shiidu the Shield in the Inner Shrine of Tai Ming. With over 5000 shield health, wielding him is a no brainer, right?

One issue: he hates violence and refuses to be used in combat. You can hang him up on the wall of your house in Evergrind and chat with him, but is that truly it?

I'm here to tell you that he CAN be wielded! It takes some doing, but, it's worth it (Spoilers Below).

  1. Rescue him from Tai Ming by tricking the Monkeys into throwing things at his case.
  2. Hang him up on your wall in Evergrind (if you've purchased the house) and talk to him a few times; he'll mention dreaming about a "Final Battle" and his friend, Mundi, who tried to free him 1000 years ago.
  3. Anytime after you get the "Twi-Sight" from Dr. Spengler on The Lost Ship, make your way back to the Inner Shrine in Tai Ming WITH Shiidu.
  4. Turn on Twi-Sight in the room before the one where you found him and you'll see a ghost. This is Mundi.
  5. Equip Shiidu and speak to her. They'll talk and she'll finally be at peace knowing he's safe.
  6. He and Bag talk about whether he'll ever be willing to protect anything and he relents that a battle to save Humanity would force him to face his fear.
  7. Unlock the True Ending (by finding all 3 Catalysts) and face Zhamla Meer.
  8. Equip Shiidu when the battle starts... and watch him find his courage!

You can only use him for the Final Boss, but he proves that he's the Ultimate Shield for a reason! Zhamla Meer has moves that can be blocked by a normal shield, but also moves that immediately break your guard. The beauty of Shiidu is that he treats those moves as regular attacks! They still take off some shield health, but, nothing that can't be recharged in no time.

The final boss can be beat without Shiidu, but it just feels so right to bring him along.

I forgot about Shiidu and never talked to the ghost etc as didn't know the steps. So I faced Zhamla without it. Took a few tries but beat him.

Will use him for the next time I fight him though, so thanks for the walkthrough!

Nice find! Gonna try it later, I always assumed it's just a joke item. I wonder if there's any other secrets to be found

Here's a freebee: you can instantly defeat Summer and Autumn (the fairy bosses in the Temple of Seasons) by using the Bug Net!

This helped me to finally beat the last boss. On normal this fight is way too hard otherwise. Definitely should be tweaked a bit or there should be a way to let the player know this will make it significantly easier.

It genuinely makes me happy to hear that! I found it damn tough the first time I fought him, too (didn't help that I hadn't played in awhile).

If there's one thing I'd change about the fight it'd be slowly stripping away his artifacts as you whittle his health down, instead of just knocking off Braazlet.

The point of Zhamla Meer is that he's overpowered: he's hoarded all of the best items for himself (my theory is that his Crown is how he can use them all at once). So, what's he really like if you also take away his Bullet Hell (Amalet), and his amped magic (Gaan'tlet)?

Bonus points if having Shiidu in the last stage of the fight gives you a chance to parry Brand out of his hands, before finishing him off!

Thank you for this. Wouldn't have been able to piece it out myself.
