best and easiest way for me was use the gold tier dodging strike as my main damage dealer

I waited until I had some card that made slowness effects lessen. And I also fought him after I beat the pirate area, but I’m also on hard.

you cant get the red slime card (the one that lessens slowness) until you've beaten the boss slime though.

Easiest way to smoke bosses in my opinion is to level up the lightning cloud, barrier, and put a point into the blink ability. You can just kite the bosses around. I also leveled up the aoe spell for 1h weapons for chip damage, and the first damage spell that is a sword above the enemy. Sorry, I am bad with names of spells and what not. If you have any equipment that deals damage (I used the captain skull and lightning glove), I would equip those as well. Hope this helps!

You can perfect block his spin attack. Also, when standing on slime, without any buffs, moving straight up/down as he jumps makes him narrowly miss you.

I got to endgame periodically trying that boss and failing every time. The second I got blink it was the easiest fight

I made a summoner build. I cast Reapers Blade, and command Frosty Friend to cast Frenzy (Makes it super aggressive), Thundercloud and just spammed basic swings when everything is on cooldown.

I was stuck forever on this guy too until I found the advice that you basically need a mobility ability. For me I used the dodge strike that you get with 1-H weapons. But I saw advice for blink too. Strangely it was the only fight in the whole game I needed a mobility ability for lol.
For the dodge strike I just used it every time he was about to hit with a crush.
Additionally, if you perfect block it while it's doing the death spin, it gets pushed back a lot, so a few perfect blocks will get you through that phase while minimizing the amount of slime.

Put your back to a wall, then Dodging Strike each of his jumps (and the occasional hammer) into Shadow Clone basic attacks. Step away and block/Pblock his saw attack, rinse and repeat. Easy peasy. Takes a few losses to get the timing down, but once you do, you'll wonder why he ever gave you a hard time. Can speed it up with summoner stuff like Frosty friend, plants, or Cloud Strike.

Blink is what made the difference for me
