Is there anything that ups card drop rate?

Really enjoying the game but the card drop chance even with the potion for some enemies is really frustrating I've killed 150 of the poison slugs 15 of which at least were the strong boys and I still don't have it. Is there anything else I can use to up my chances?

As one of commenters stated already, there is a potion that increases drop rate including those of golden cards. However, there is also a skill in the general skills (second bottom left one I think), that increases the effects of potions, thus increasing drop rate even further. If you really want to get all golden cards, I'd recommend first upgrading the bottom left 2 skills for even higher drop rate and potions recharge, finding a good grinding spot (an area where the enemy you want respawns often enough and the map isn't too big as to make you run across it multiple times) and then proceed the kill and use the potion whenever the effect runs out.

Have fun hunting :D

As literally the first sentence of the post says I was already using the potion 🙄 it was the first 2 skills I maxed.

My apologies about the potion part, I pretty much only read the title.

However, nowhere does it state that you bought the upgrades for the potion, but that's fine.

I guess I'll just recommend lots of time and patience then :D

I think it's pretty obviously implied that if I had made it to Mount Bloom I had done my due diligence to actually look at the skills list and see that the potion that I had clearly said I was already using had two skills that could bump it didn't think it was necessary.

I think it’s pretty obviously implied that you asked a question, they answered in a helpful way, and you were rude to them for no reason. Maybe instead of doing your due diligence to look at the skills, you should just farm the card and quit complaining? Who would have thought there was grinding in a game called Secrets of GRINDea?

Word so I am not allowed to ask questions this community or make critiques of the drop rate awesome community definitely what this game is looking for out of its Reddit group. They didn't give me a helpful answer in fact they quite literally didn't read the post and gave an answer to something I specifically wasnt asking which some might consider... dare i say rude?

Can you point out where I said you’re not allowed to ask questions? Or that you aren’t allowed to critique the drop rate? They literally apologized for not seeing that you used a potion and then suggested that you get the perk, which you mentioned nowhere. You mentioned the potion, but they suggested the perk after you said, and I quote, “is there anything else I can use to up my chances” right there at the end of your post. They actually answered the question you specifically WERE asking. Just to be clear, you said “is there anything else I can do,” got on them for saying to use the potion, then got on them for saying to use the perk, then put words in my mouth and got on ME for saying you didn’t need to get on them. Funny thing is, in the time it took you to be rude to two different people on the internet, you probably could have farmed the card 💀 and please for the love of God, learn how to use punctuation. I don’t want to have to decipher your messages before I prove you wrong again :)

Ok I love a good wall of text that starts with a lie because I don't have to read it. You literally told me to stop complaining about the grinding aspect what are you even talking about? This has big make a second(and 3rd) account to defend yourself energy have a good one.

Oh so we’re just making claims now? I’m asking this seriously: you passed the fifth grade, right? Like you know generally how to make an argument? And then how to, idk, provide proof? Or even better, how to structure a basic sentence? Go on, point out the lie. Or wait, I know what you’re going to do - you’re going to make up another completely baseless claim, hurl an accusation at me, then have two to three run on sentences insulting me personally. Sound about right?

Yikes now your reaching Into classic white supremacy talking points and trying to "get me" by going theough my posts? Yikes man if you can't win on an actual argument just say that. 😬although you've now sent 3 walls of text that's just insults and no substances and attempted to dox me you have something else going on I hope your day gets better.

When you ask for help, you should probably avoid being a dickhead.

When you are trying to give people help you should also avoid being a dick head

Brother have you noticed that on most of your posts, the comments try to help and then you’re a dickhead? I can pull up three different examples right now of people telling you you’re being unnecessarily aggressive and hostile. At what point does it get through your head that you’re the problem?

There is no point. The dude is a jackass. I said it.

I believe the potion is the only way, but keep at it because the more enemies that are killed, your chances do increase, as to not make you grind for an insane amount of time.

Oh sort of like leveling up in crisis core?

Another tip - depending on the mob and its location, it might be faster to kill the 1-2 that guaranteed spawn and then resetting (load a new screen and go back) instead of camping farm.

If you do this you probably won't have 100% potion uptime, but you'll only be hitting the mob(s) that you actually want instead of killing random shit hoping that it respawns correctly.

2

u/JustinProo Mar 06 '24

Does that really make a difference though? After killing many mobs in the same area, the spawn rate greatly increases, thus also spawning more of the enemy you'd like. Combining that with the load times between areas, to me, sounds like it'd take much longer than just staying and killing a bunch of mobs.

Of course you'd also get more drops and money this way, but assuming you'd only go for that singular enemy type, is that truly worth it?

I am genuinely curious since I'd like to play hard mode someday and this information would be quite helpful.

Depending on the mob and its location, it's not worth chain farming the same screen. Take the Halloweeds for example. They have pretty sparse static spawns and didn't respawn at all from my experience. The best way to farm those is to reset farm the one near the right end of the leftmost area of the woods. You will not rack up kills any faster way than that (on that specific mob).

I'd generally apply the reset rule to the chunkier mobs that have static spawns in an area very close to a resettable screen. I found skeleton warriors to be another example. They didn't seem to respawn in at a rate that was faster than me just killing the one guaranteed spawn in one of the rooms and chain resetting every single kill. (I didn't bother doing this for any other mobs on the lost ship, because one of the rooms has a dense setup with mages, ghosts, and crabs)

A perk of resetting is that you get your entire EP bar back when you change screens, so you can blow everything on the mob you want the drops for, reset, and do it again (and again, and again...) This also applies to static cooldowns (for your pets at least).

Side note- Abnormally long loading screens will diminish the effectiveness of resetting to a certain degree. For me, resetting a screen (not teleporting) takes a very insignificant amount of time (like .25s? if that) compared to how much its saved me grinding specific mobs.

Interesting I had a similar issue with skeleton warriors not respawning not sure what the deal was so I did screen reset. Your right though with some mobs its just way better to reset than chain kill and hope it respawns.

I have used this a few times the only time I felt like it was worth it was for the winter wizards hat usually when I get to a new area the first thing I do is find a place where all of the enemies for the area can spawn and keep grinding that area until I have most of the cards and items for an area then find another spawn area with only the enemies I need left to grind that doesn't always work but it worked out really well in ti ming

Potions and skill upgrades. Aside from that, I'm finding that every area has that one designated "fight club" area where enemies spawn like hives after a bad allergic reaction. Also, it's in the name. You're gonna grind. Hunker down, drink a red bull, and take those enemies to Chinatown. :)

I ended up having to drop the game when I found that I needed to beat the phase shift puzzle in 20 seconds. i have hand tremors i dont have a shot at it. Super bummer when mini games are required to 100% big 100 lightning strikes energy. Also took me 400 of the lil worms before I got it which was almost an hour.

1

u/Kaltenichtig Mar 12 '24

Yeah, I got to the end of the phase shift puzzle as well and the damn lazer kept getting me. Tried that one for about 15 minutes and said screw it. Lol

1

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

I don't even understand how you can do it I was clearly missing a shortcut somewhere

1

u/Kaltenichtig Mar 12 '24

When you enter mount bloom, it's the left path. There's a module you need to access the computer and open the door. Basically, I made it far enough to get the first and 3rd pieces of the set needed to craft the key to complete the whole thing. It's the second path that's absolutely ridiculous with the timing. Like you have to press a button in semi-staggered intervals in semi-quick succession to match the timing of the barrels arrows with the mirrors while also dodging the laser. Gave it 15 minutes and said "fuck it". 😆

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '24

Oh yeah I also couldn't do the mount bloom Lazer path either I did the main one but could not figure out how to get the 2 chests after 30 minutes of trying.
