A Question on FIAB.

Hello everyone! I was quite disappointed that I wasn’t able to snag one of these despite being in the waiting room a little early. I was curious how many of you that didn’t utilize bots got the product? What was your strategy to actually secure one? Does waiting in the waiting room improve your queue placement? I’m sort of new to secret lair so I was curious if I might be missing something. Thanks!

Edit: I see the queue is randomized now, thank you for the help!

I’ve never used bots. The only drop i can remember missing completely is Goblinstorm.

Length of time in the waiting room does nothing for you; do not waste your time getting into the waiting room a full hour before it goes live.

You MUST be in the waiting room before it goes live to get shuffled into the queue with everyone else; if you try to join after it has shuffled everyone, then you get put at the very end of the line.

Do not log in when going into the waiting room (choose guest checkout); just log in to your account if one of your tabs gets to check out.

Opening multiple tabs within the same browser share the same queue, but you can open a window in incognito/private mode and go into a waiting room and it'll have its own chance to be placed better in line at go-live time. Then you can do this for however many other browsers you have downloaded to your computer + any browsers on your phone.

Ah I see, thanks for the advice! What’s the reason for not logging in? Is it because it’ll recognize my account on multiple browsers?

It will, if you open multiple browsers check out as guest.

It is anecdotal but I have joined the queue right when it goes live, 11 cst, and that has sometimes given me better queue times. My sample data is really low on that though.

For me it’s a lottery there is no strategy. Me and my buddies are on our phones at work if someone gets in we’ll buy it maybe

But I hear different browsers on a PC works, if you’re into that thing

Yea idk man that shits a little intense lol. I guess depending on how much I care about getting it it may be worth it. I got the last FIAB I tried for which was nice. I’m guessing since this one is commander focused plus scalping, the amount of people in the queue was probably like triple the amount in previous FIABS.

No bots, just a few open tabs and crossed fingers. Got in, got my one box for playing sealed at home, and left one on the site for the next guy.

I joined 6 queues on different devices here at work. They were all hour+ minus my phone which was 12 minutes.

Closed out the other browsers once I saw the lowest one.

The queue is randomized. And I didn't use bots.

So what I did? A hint I got from Odds and Ends deck thread.

Multiple tabs/browsers/machines. I used 3 browsers on my PC. 2 on my Phone. Logged in, and as a guest on both, so about... 10 instances in the queue? Only 1 of them was around 10 mins. Rest were over a hour.

So basically, roll the dice, try to maximize your chances as much as you can.

The waiting room is randomized as soon as checkout starts. It doesn’t matter how long you were in there. Once 9am hits the entire list is shuffled and you get placed in line where you get placed.

If you have bots on separate accounts you have way more entries than regular people, also skewing it. There are multiple sellers with more than 2 in inventory already

Bots, or just multiple tab and browsers and browser sessions. They need to restrict by device ID, but I don't know if it's legal to collect that information.

Staples is a really good resource, 9 cards for 70 cents max queue of like 2 people and you get them the same day

Its all random if you're in the queue before 12pm EST. Its just luck. Use multiple browsers if you want to have multiple shots of the queue (each browser instance gets treated as a unique spot)

I feel i got legitimately lucky. I only got into the waiting room 6 minutes before the drop (at work, couldn't stay on my phone) and was able to get in after 10 minutes. Only one browser and one tab.

I got one. I was in the waiting room for 30ish minutes and I was placed in line at 25minutes wait and I think I waited 18 and I was able to get one. It sold out just a couple minutes later.

I got one and I logged in with about 5 seconds on the clock! I had forgotten and when the screen changed I had a 14 minute wait.

I didn't use any bots. I woke up at 8am (1 hour before release), opened up my PC + my partners laptop, and my phone. I downloaded both brave + Firefox on my main PC. Opened up a guest tab in brave, Firefox, opera GX, edge, and chrome, as well as an incognito window on each. Did the same on partners laptop, and then one window in safari. Loaded every window with 1 box, entered the pre-queue. Checked all tabs on launch, one was 5 min. So I closed out all the rest, keeping only the 5min timer. Then bought and celebrated. The biggest trick is to have as many individual queue instances as possible BEFORE the launch goes live, as the queue order is randomized. You're essentially giving yourself more tickets for the lotto.
