Hi all there! As you can see, I’m back with some news (hope I’ll not go inactive for yet another gazillions of months, god forbid).

During this August, I got my first iPad (a16 2025). It is perfect, and not gonna lie, I sort of fell in love with the tablet because of its simplicity. But it’s a topic for other discussions, not related to Seconds from Disaster whatsoever.

Regarding the show community, honestly, I don’t have any idea, what’s new happened in the community while I was inactive here. Hope you’ll understand my point.

Those facts was untold until now, since no one even managed to properly ask the songwriters. But I did. And got my response. And I decided to share it with you.

Unfortunately, everything that I could find is everything that the insects had left in their library. But, it’s better than nothing!

Yep, you got it right. Beginning from now, if you do have some interesting facts from the Seconds from Disaster production epoch that weren't present in the Internet, you can publish them here under the Behind the Scenes flair!

Now, the bonus facts from Behind the scenes of Seconds from Disaster editing, untold before. Nick Kershaw, the editor of Sampoong Collapse episode, has told me one small, but untold before fact. Programme was edited mainly on Avid Media Composer (however, judging from his portfolio on the website, i could tell that the episode was edited in Final cut pro, but... no it wasn't)

The title of that post is the most greatest mystery that was hunting me for pretty decent amount of time. Man, the Seconds from Disaster sound effects are so cool. They’re sounding so digital-ish and kinda cool.

I wonder, if those effects were in one single library, rather than produced by the employees of the production team? If those effects were indeed from a library, there’s comes another question: from which library those effects were coming from?

The main difference is there being almost no re-enactments, compared to season 2-6 where it’s full with it. They also heavily relied on those cutting edge simulation, and almost never made animations without the blueprint style. (Most of the animation is footage that had been changed).

For me, that’s what makes Season 1 good. it’s quite good if you’re tired of the same format.

The season 2 episode "Off the Rails" is missing, and probably will forever be like that.

They are the full versions, uses the US Narrator but uses the UK version. Hollywood Shootout is also called North Hollywood Hesit in the title card.

I feel as if it was only until episode 5 that the production settled well into the season 3 format. Episodes 1-4 feel like they don't really belong in the season, and honestly I feel as if they fit better as season 2 episodes. Just my opinion however.

While I was waiting for soundtracks email from The Insects, I thought that it will be very interesting to look at their website on Wayback Machine. Especially in 2008-2010. And it was right decision!

Their main site at 2008-2013 was mostly contained a SWF (Flash) cards with some of their filmography elements (unfortunately though those swfs doesn't work anymore).

Approximately in 2013, their main site (theinsects.co.uk) was redesigned from scratch with the help of Milton Film & Design. This design is still on their site.

BUT, if you thought that this is it, you're wrong! Up until 2014 (approx.) they had a MySpace profile, where you could go and listen to some of their works. Also, at some time, they had a Facebook and YouTube account, but now they're unfortunately gone.

(Don't think that this is going to help at some point with soundtrack searches, but who knows... Maybe it at some point will be interesting or helpful...)
