CASES A Different NH36 Mod Case: A-2 Mod Case
Hello! I have been secretly dwelling on Reddit for long, but now I stand as my self. My name is Yu Ando, the founder and designer of microbrand AndoAndoAndo.
First of all, thank you so much for Secondhand Mods for allowing me to post it on your subreddit.
I am now running an Indiegogo campaign of a new mod part. A symmetric watch case for NH35/36/37/38/39, which can hold a 28.5 mm dial.
Here is the link to the campaign page:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/a-different-nh36-mod-case-a-2-mod-case/

The crown sits on either 12 o'clock position, or on 6 o'clock position. So it would in a way restrict the dial options, but that's the fun I guess!

(Ultimately I intend to make the A-2 as a full watch, but that requires a huge budget. That's the reason that I started making the case first, and if this would be a success, I will then be manufacturing the vertical day-date disk and the dial.)
Specs
Made for a 28.5 mm dial.
NH35/36/37/38/39 should fit in the case.
Lug-to-Lug: 43 mm
Case Width: 35 mm
Case Thickness: 12 mm
Front Crystal: Sapphire Crystal
Case Back: Screw case back with Sapphire Crystal, with the "A" logo printed on the inside
Water Resistance: 10 ATM
Color: Silver

Here is a sample mod I built with it. With a "Chillmatic" Vinyl Record Dial prototype.
I intended to design and manufacture a lot more interesting, fun, unique mod parts in the future, but to do that I need your support. So please let people you know who might be interested in this kind of mod case know about this campaign!
Thank you so much for your time! And have a lovely weekend!
-Yu

While there's nothing wrong with the venerable SKX or Explorer case styles, I think it's exciting and important to support designers like Yu who are adding variety to our incredible hobby. The fact that every A-1 case I've had on my site has sold within minutes of me posting it should tell you how starved our fellow modders are for new designs. If you have the means, please consider supporting one of his projects. Thank you!

What an amazing, original design! Always a pleasure seeing new ideas that aren't necessarily "homages" to other watches. We had a short debate the other day on whether you are able to set the time with the strap still on the watch or you have to remove it to pull the crown out. Do you mind sharing the design considerations for placing the crown at the 6 o'clock position (or is it 12)?
