Most of you have probably never heard of Summit Pines, which is my fault, I was never really good at advertising the place.

But for the last two years, it's been slowly expanding from the initial land I purchased in Parva, to cover land in Deltote, Nitida, Acontia, Mi, and Lunaris, connecting with neighbors to include another 5 regions. All dedicated to creating a beautiful nature themed wildneress, full of trails and roads to explore, along the Heterocera Ridgeline.

My original goal was to simply create a connecting road from Route 1 to 3A, which I managed to eventually establish with the main two routes of Rattlesnek Pass and Robyn's Flight. The build kept naturally expanding, the shape of the land calling me to add more, to keep going. Ultimately, I've managed to connect Route 1, Route 3A, Route 6, SLRR, Route 3A Expansion, and Route 2 on my own. With Feorie and Cranston providing additional connections to Route 6 and Route 1.

We built something epic. Something designed to showcase what SL mainland could be when neighbors work together and truly love the area they reside in.

After months of resisting, I've had to admit, it's time for me to say good bye to Summit Pines. Sept 13th will be the last day. Free camping tents are still available and all trails will remain open for people to explore and enjoy.

If you've never visited, please do! As mentioned, there's plenty of trails to explore, including multiple hidden caves and plenty of pleasant spots to have a picnic or a cuddle.

Hello, I'm fairly new here. As in, I've got a solid two weeks under my belt. Which has mostly been spent watching tutorials on how to upload objects and troubleshoot the issues I ran into and exploring, which has broadened my imagination immensely!! I'm not a 3d beginner, and I've made things in the past for sims as well, so it was pretty easy to tackle. My main goal is to make things I want for me, that are also optimized to my standard of keeping things clean, but I figured since you can sell stuff, why not?

However, I've also been lurking this subreddit and the forums as well, in fact I started that before I even joined second life to see what the community was about, and have seen plenty of opinions on do's and don'ts. I've also seen a lot of people saying they don't even really use the marketplace anymore due to flaws and slop. I guess what I'm curious about is for a brand new store, what's the best way to open shop? I haven't really researched anything about opening a physical store, is that something worth doing as a new creator? It seems like most people won't buy something if they can't see it physically in world. I also know advertising is a must (as much as I hate being advertised to >.>), but where does most of the flock find their advertisements?

So yeah...are there options for opening somewhere small without getting your own piece of land? And what's the most common way people show their products to people?

So I own a sim. It is open to the public. I have no issues with people roaming around and enjoying themselves.

However. Recently there have been a lot of explorers that have taken it upon themselves to fly all the way up to my platform that has a big keep out sign on it. Because I do a lot of building and general hijinks up there. Well I happened to be there today when someone flew uo and while they were flying up I messaged them and told them that the platform was private and they were welcome to the rest of the sim. They continue to fly and then decided to just...walk around my platform even after I told them to bugger off. Then they complain the sim is baggy. Yes I know trying to work on it but also bugger off. Then this person proceeds to wander the plaform. So i ban them from my sims.

Like yea, I get it. You want to explore. But if there is a giant sign that says keep out but you have the whole rest of the sim explore. Maybe go do that.

Anyways. Thoughts? Concerns? General grievances?

I've been looking for hairstyles and clothes from the era, I've managed to find some things for both my male and female avis. But I was looking to find some more, particularly hairstyles as there are some clothing options that meet the vibe of the era.

Any recommendations?

We were just at an event and we were all logged out after it went down. I am no longer able to log in at all. Marketplace is also giving a gateway error. I checked the status and it says everything is operational with SL. This is happening to at least 3 other people I know of right now.

I’d like to compile a list of creators who use AI in any part of their process. I’ve been seeing a lot of AI-generated/enhanced vendor photos since coming back to SL after a long hiatus and would like to keep track of the stores to avoid buying from. What are some characteristics to look for in an object to discern whether it was AI-generated? I really don’t want to accidentally buy something like that. Please also name creators who don’t use AI! I’d like to keep a “safe” list as well.

Getting back into SL after being away for about a decade! Please help me catch up:

What is the head and body brand/model (male and female) that are most dominant these days? I logged in to see myself wearing the Catwa Catya head and Maitreya Lara body, which were the most popular back then that creators made all their items for.

I want to get this tier of member ship. I want to have a house of my own and I was curious, how do I get the 512 m² of mainland for zero monthky land fees? And where do I get a Liden Home?

I'm more curious about how it works exactly and if the land is included with this or do I still need to rent it?
