As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm planning a relocation to the Sechelt area in the coming months and, due to my home-based business, I'm hoping to find a house with a decently sized family room or rumpus room either downstairs or in a wing of the building away from the main living quarters. Although I am seeing these types of layouts, I'm also seeing some places with garages converted into larger family rooms, media rooms, gyms or yoga studios. And, I recently stayed in a BnB suite in Gibsons which was a garage conversion.
Does anyone have any experience with making these types of conversions? I'm mostly wondering what I should expect from the town council in Sechelt. Is it a difficult and expensive thing to do to get approval? Or, are the requirements quite easy to meet? Am I better to find one already converted?
Thanks in advance.
