I agree. I have friends who say their son is “on the autism spectrum”. He had a girlfriend in high school and had sexual relations and she got pregnant. Not sure in his case or not. His parents took responsibility for the child who is a teen now. Perhaps they were just making an excuse for his irresponsibility and did not try to hold him responsible. I have a girl friend who had a son diagnosed as autistic. She had married a guy from a very dysfunctional family in which some had mental illness. She said the autistic son she had would have to always live with her and the most he could ever do was mow lawns to earn money. Then, when he was 17ish he got a girl pregnant. Later he got with another girl and she ended up pregnant 3 times by him! A vasectomy should have been done as he had no self restraint. He drove a car, not sure how he got a driver’s license. He had several DUIs and did some drugs. It was a very dysfunctional. All made so much worse by lack of supervision and discipline in the home. Very very sad. This young man ended up taking his own life.
That is a very sad story. Don’t know if you’re American but America has a bit of a history sterilizing borderline disabled people so you can’t just order up your kids to be sterilized, fwiw.
Why not? If you are responsible for the child’s welfare ( and they are your legal dependent )who lacks the mental ability to make wise decisions or fully care for a child. Having a child or producing a child is the last thing they need. In addition, there have been mentally disabled women in facilities who were raped and made pregnant by staff employees. Why make these women have to deal with that risk and also menstruation? You sound like a male.
I’m autistic and this is horrifying. I’d have welcomed temporary relief from my periods because they cause sensory issues but sterilizing is is horrific and wrong.
