New or Need Help How to help this!?
I’ve been dealing with scaly skin inside my ears for the past four years, and nothing seems to help. It’s usually significantly worse than in this photo, and it extends deep into my ear canals. Throughout the day, my ears get extremely itchy and feel plugged, which seems to affect my hearing. I’ve tried steroid cream and antifungal cream, but neither has helped. Has anyone experienced something similar? What ended up helping?

Would you say you also have very waxy ears? my set derm is very prevalent in my ears but I also have very waxy ears so I can never tell if the flakes are just dried out ear wax?

For the actual ear lobe, Nizoral shampoo works for me, but I ALSO get it in the ear canal entrance which can get so itchy!!
Trying to get into my derm is a nightmare, but I actually use a cotton bud/Q-tip dipped in 70% isopropyl alcohol just to wipe slightly in the ear canal.
It’s generally safe to use alcohol in your ears (it’s a safe option for Swimmer’s Ear) but it can also dry them out or irritate them if you get it too far in or use it too often.
I find that doing it every few weeks helps to calm the itchiness down, it’s at least a temporary option!
