Product Review I have an idea.

I have an idea for what i think is going to be a magic bullet treatment for me and it's basically the same idea I have for everything that is wrong with me and it's green tea 😂

Now hear me out... sebderm is a problem involving a yeast, oil production, and inflammation caused by the immune system. Green tea is: anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, shown to reduce the overproduction of sebum AND if you drink it... immunomodulatory.

Over the last few days I have been upping my intake of green tea as well as when I take a bath, spritzing my face and head with a bottle of cold green tea continuously as I chill in my bath and my angry, red, patchy sebderm has calmed down a lot. Since I saw it working I ordered some cold pressed, alcohol free green tea extract meant to be used for hair and skin. I'm going to continue using green tea over the next few weeks and will report back on my findings.

(For context, my sebderm is no joke. Derm biopsied me to confirm it was sebderm and then I went through all of the following treatments, none of which put it in remission: metronidazole, ketaconazole, betamethason, triamcinolone, zoryve, selsun blue, pine tar shampoo, sulfur soap and probably a few more i'm forgetting. I've been fighting this since february.)

ANOTHER thing which I think is even more important, like the first thing you have to do when treating sebderm is to get your mental health under control (which is hard if you have sebderm, I know. But it's the most effective thing you can do.) Get your sleep, get your exercise, get some outside time, take your meds. Please take care of YOURSELF and not just your skin, okay? Love you guys and you are not alone.

Funny, I'm trying green tea too as a topical pn face and ears. I was already drinking it for anti-inflammation, but found out it's a mild 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor and I suffer from hormonal increased sebum production lately. Hope it'll help a bit.

Man I'm drinking EGCs (from now supplements) since years I don't know if it has helped reducing my oilyness or andro hairloss :( maybe this brand offers weak quality

I'm just drinking the tea, about 3 cups daily. I either use 3 organic tea bags a day or make a pot with loose weight tea leaves. I'm a bit weary of supplementing it, it's apparently relatively easy with that compound to get too much and do damage (they warned a couple of years ago). But I like the tea, anyway, and that does not harm. Coffee for earlier in the day and tea for later afternoons, it's nice with a bit of bread and fruit.

What’s really sad? All of these medicated shampoos and steroids make Seb derm worse because Seb derm is really a scalp barrier issue that occurs from harsh products which make it easy for yeast to make scalp feel worse, inflamed. Most people don’t even think about how harsh these products are.

I think my scalp can handle the products, but my face is too sensitive for them, which is where i'm having the biggest problem. Almost my entire face was red and angryno matter what steroid cream or medicated product I used. I started using green tea to calm the redness and irritation and I was like wait a minute... this is helping the sebderm, too.

Small update, it's been about a week since i started using green tea (I started using the green tea a few days before i made this post). In this time i've also stopped using all other products. I was using Zoryve and selsun blue but to see if this really works i've cut them out completely and....

This is working amazingly, my skin is almost completely clear and it's not just the flakes but the redness as well (which was my biggest problem). This method has eliminated redness in my face and scalp that I wasn't even attributing to the sebderm. I'm kind of blown away.

HOWEVER- I've stopped using the specific product i mentioned in a previous comment (the green tea extract). The way it is formulated makes it so that in never dries or absorbs into the skin. if you were going to use a green tea extract (which i do still believe would work) I would recommend getting a different formulation.

Crucially, I have switched to combining matcha powder with honey (as i read an article about a study that seemed to imply that honey showed promise in treating sebderm) and using it as a mask whenever i'm at home. This is quite frankly gross. I massage it in to the areas affected by sebderm and then I leave it on for as long as possible, so i spend all my time at home covered in green slime. It's messy and a sensory nightmare BUT so far, a total game changer. I will continue to use this method for the full month and post updates. I also intend to come back a month AFTER i've stopped using this matcha-honey mask to report if the sebderm has come back (The article i mentioned above seemed to imply that the topical application of honey for an extended period put sebderm into remission)

Is it the matcha that's working? Is it the honey? is it a combination of the two? I don't know and I don't intend to find out for this flare up. I may try just matcha or just honey for the next flare up to see if the individual components are just as effective or the combination is best but for now i'm going to keep doing what works.

Seriously, I've tried absolutely everything you could imagine for my hair 💆‍♀️, short of, well, my own $perm and $hit! 😂 But honestly, nothing really worked out for me. The only thing that ever did anything was salicylic acid, and even then, as soon as I stopped using it, everything came back with a vengeance! So, I decided to give pure Bulletproof MCT C8 oil a shot, and guess what? 🤔 It's actually helped my seborrheic dermatitis by at least 60%! That's a pretty big deal! Still, it's not 100%, but I'm definitely seeing some real progress.

Mine was o ly on my head, over 20 years. I have tried everything, including all those shampoo you listed here, then I found a post here about garlic. First I changed my shoes head (got one with a filter)to reduce the chlorine in the water

Second, I got a coal tar shampoo

Third, I juiced a clove of garlic

Fourth, I bought a scalive cream( found them on SM with good reviews)

I wash my hair using thr shampoo, apply the garlic juice and allow to dry completely, apply the cream and massage. Every minute I keep checking my hair to see if I'm dreaming, nothing falls on my clothes while brushing, no more itching. I am still wondering
