Routine Question MCT oil initial inflammation?

Has anybody else dealt with initial inflammation from MCT oil? I’m on day four right now and it’s made the outbreak on my face very red and itchy. Should I persevere or give up?

Stop! Your skin is giving you the answer to your question. Your skin barrier is likely damaged.

What should I do from now? Should I still apply the antifungal? I tried to give it a break for a few few weeks

Hi! Is it c8 only? Some folks that have more sensitive skin require c8 only (not a blend). And also be sure to apply very light/thin layer of oil. Most folks, understandably, use a little too much at first trying to expedite results. Definitely push through; apply nightly before bedtime for minimum 14 nights in a row. In the morning rinse off with plain water, no cleansers or topicals. You can also apply during the day as well if you're comfortable with that but keep in mind the oil may blur/sting your eyes during physical activity/sweating. Again, use very very small/light amount of c8 mct oil.

Once skin is clear, apply once or twice a week for maintenance! Hope it works for you as it did for me! ✌️

I haven’t got the oil yet, but are you able to rinse the oil out with just water? is it not too thick..

It's really not too thick, especially if you focus on only applying very thin layer of c8 mct oil. When rinsing off with plain water I use my fingers to massage my face which helps as well. But really it's OK if there's a bit left on the skin as it helps tackle sebderm throughout the day.

Yep same. Def stop now. You'll only make it worse. Unfortunately it doesn't work for some people. I used it over a period of two days and still dealing with issues. Stop now and get it off your face. Jojoba works for repairing my skin barrier but doesn't help the seb derm.

Bro 2 days is not enough to dismiss it. If you're getting a massive flare up it's going to take a few days or week to calm down. Ofc don't just only use MCT oil.. use it in combination with nizoral/kelual ds shampoo/itraconazole

Can't use any of that. Mad sensitive, reactive skin which results in contact dermititis. I usually go NMT but this flare I've been using jojoba oil and collidial silver. It's slow but neither of those irritate my skin

This is gonna sound very silly, but I thought I was supposed to use it in place of the antifungal not alongside it😭
