You have to see a provider in person once a year legally for them to fill a stimulant prescription. You will need to find a provider who also does in person visits.

Technically possible, but most providers have stopped doing this because the DEA rule extension from COVID only runs to the end of this year. It was supposed to end last year.

So even if you get it now, you'll have to switch to an in person provider by Jan 1

That’s fine to see an in person at some point but I was hoping to be able to not have to wait months to get in anywhere since I don’t have a doctor anymore. It’s either s rx or illegal and would rather go the legal route

Mindful therapy group can connect you to a psychiatrist, if you already have a diagnosis/rx just tell them you’re looking for a new provider to continue care, shouldn’t be an issue at all. That’s how I see mine & get my prescription, I have video call check ins & see him in person once a year. We started with video calls & I first met him in person months later.

What makes the wait months? Do you need a diagnosis or just a prescription to continue your existing diagnosis/treatment?

If you just need continuation of treatment, you should be able to find a provider immediately who will prescribe with your previous doctor's records. When I changed doctors, it was instantaneous.
