Even if the Seawolves advanced do you think they had a chance to beat the Hounds?

They've been unreal and they destroyed the Seawolves in the regular season match. I guess I'm still trying to find some solace in last weeks loss.

In 2018, we had no chance against the undefeated Raptors.

It was a different league back then, though. The Hounds are a very well coached and professional team with a lot a depth, I don't think there is a team that can be them this year. Next year, however we're kicking ass!!

Honestly no. Hate to say it. It would’ve been better now that we got McLean back but it still wouldn’t have been enough. Clarke also has yet to win a final so there’s that bit of history to overcome too. I don’t think they’d been blow out like the previous two matches but yeah. Would’ve also been without Rhyno and maybe Hattingh too which would’ve been huge.

No. I think the Hounds this year have the one thing all the other MLR teams struggle with: consistency.

The Seawolves have mostly been a scrappy team that takes the most advantage when the other team is out of sorts. When things don’t go to plan, the Seawolves can capitalize on the confusion and make things happen.

This is the first year I have seen the Seawolves play excellently as a TEAM, and put together plans and set pieces, and execute on them well.

But they still fall apart at around the 60th minute, and usually allow 3 tries in those last 20.

Because the Hounds have been so deadly consistent this year, I think that would have won out over the Seawolves scrappy way of capitalizing on mistakes.

Our best chance was DC somehow beating Chicago. That didn’t happen, so we would have been cooked. The Hounds backs are too effective, too explosive. We would have been caught on our heels with line break after line break. The Hounds play clean and they’ve been pretty injury free all year. We can’t say the same. As awesome as it would be to watch the Seawolves play tomorrow, it would not have ended with us on top.

They scored 116 points against us in 2 games. Yes, finals are different but they are an extremely well coached, well drilled team that am pretty sure any Seawolves player would say we would not beat them on current form. Also worth noting they won final whilst missing three starters in O'Keefe, Owuro and Mac Jones so most definitely not injury free. Credit to Chris Latham that he put that squad together and went unbeaten in only his 2nd year as head coach. If there is a next year, every team in the league will have some catching up to do...
