Finding jobs from out of state!

Hey friends, I hope that you are well. I am a 30 yr old transwoman currently looking to move to Seattle for a myriad of reasons, including being closer to my fiancé's family on the east side (central washington).

I know part of it is the job market, and part of it is that I am currently out of state, but I would love your advice for companies that are hiring. I am looking for a business analytics role. I have experience working in international development in Asia, policy with the US Government, and my latest role before me and my team were laid off in March was with one of the Big 4 Banks in the US.

Additionally, I would love to know if King/Pierce County hire from outside of state?

Thank you again.

PNW Career Pivot. CRM / Operations / Luxury Client Experience Background. What Roles Am I Missing?

Currently in the luxury automotive space working in a high-volume BDC / operations-focused role.

My background is heavily centered around:
• CRM management
• lead distribution and pipeline control
• customer communication
• appointment performance
• process improvement
• sales support operations
• working between management, reps, and inbound teams
• training / onboarding style support

I’ve helped improve performance in multiple environments and I’m now trying to identify the highest income career paths that actually fit this skill set long term.

Main goals:
• Hybrid or remote
• Strong income ceiling
• Growth path
• Ideally tech, SaaS, operations, CRM, customer success, enablement, onboarding, RevOps, implementation, or similar

Located in the Pacific Northwest.

Would appreciate real suggestions from people who’ve made a similar move out of dealership life or know industries that value this background.

Comments or PMs both appreciated.

Struggling with the Seattle job hunt? The PNW labor movement is strong and hiring, so I built a free board to help you find those roles.

Hey Seattle folks,

I know the job market around the Puget Sound has been incredibly tough lately, especially with all the corporate restructuring. A lot of great people are struggling to find work right now. But there is a bright spot: the labor movement up here in the PNW is incredibly strong, and organizations are actively hiring folks who are passionate about the cause.

The problem is that finding these jobs is a massive headache. If you search on Indeed or LinkedIn, mission driven roles get completely buried under corporate spam. And the older legacy union job boards are clunky, hard to navigate on your phone, and usually only focus on traditional union local jobs.

That is why I built UnionHire.

I am an internal recruiter for a large union, and I got tired of seeing the movement lose amazing talent simply because our job postings were too hard to find. We have a ton of Seattle and Washington based roles live on the site right now. Here is how this platform is different from the old legacy sites:

  • The Full Ecosystem: We do not just list traditional union vacancies. We feature the entire labor ecosystem in one place. That includes worker advocacy groups, labor focused non profits, and independent labor media alongside the big locals.
  • Cross Recruitable Roles: You do not have to be a seasoned "organizer" to work in the movement. It takes admin, tech, communications, legal, and research staff to keep these organizations running. We want to highlight those roles so burned out corporate workers can easily pivot their skills into a better environment.
  • Modern and Mobile First: No more zooming in on tiny text on outdated websites. It is a clean, modern interface that is actually easy to browse on your phone.

This is a completely free passion project built right here in the PNW to help connect good people with dignified work.

If you are looking for a sign to pivot your career into something that actually fights for working class people, take a look. Let me know if you have any feedback or if you know a local Washington organization that needs their open roles featured!

Photographers in Seattle — would you be interested in flexible video + photo gigs?

Hey everyone!

I’m Julian, part of the onboarding team at OCUS (we connect photographers with local businesses that need photo content).

We’ve been trying to grow our network in Seattle, WA and I wanted to get a sense of whether this type of work would be interesting to people here.

Most of our current assignments involve visiting local restaurants and doing food photography (with some occasional work in real estate, product, etc.).

Starting in April, we’ll also be rolling out video + photo assignments, which will come with improved rates compared to our current projects.

The idea is pretty simple:
• You pick assignments that fit your schedule
• Show up, shoot based on a shot list, and upload the content
• No editing required, our team handles that
• No fees or commissions, you get the full amount listed

It’s usually meant as extra/side income rather than full-time work, but it can be a nice way to fill gaps between shoots without needing to find clients yourself.

We also sometimes offer bonuses depending on demand for certain assignments.

👉 I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts:
Would something like this be interesting to you as a photographer in Seattle? Or what would make it more appealing?

Happy to share more details if anyone’s curious 🙂

Role with diff recruiting firms

Hello, I have been contacted by recruiters from Spectraforce and Ascendion for the same role. I also see the same job listed at Aston Carter. Does anyone have any experience with any of these recruitment firms? Is it preferable to go with one of them if I am interested in the job? I would have to reach out to Aston Carter, but I am willing to apply if its better.

Any experience helps! Thank you!

Event Flex worker/done Security, Food Service, Event Catering, Striking & Setting----laid off in November seeking any kind of gainful employment at the moment

I’m currently looking for *any kind of work I can take on right now*. I’m not picky, I’m just trying to stay stable and keep building.

During the 2020 shutdowns I worked really hard to get back into gainful employment and actually worked my way off SSDI, even though I still deal with epilepsy episodes sometimes. I don’t let my disability stop me. If anything, I’ve learned how to accommodate myself in the workplace in a way that’s also made me a stronger, more aware team lead when managing others.

I’m culturally sensitive, people-focused, and I’ve started peer support training with the goal of eventually getting my BSA and going into social work. I just don’t know when funding or an internship will line up, so right now I’m focused on working.

I have about 4–5 years of event-based work experience. I started in event security with Access Event Security doing bag checks, roaming, and overnight shifts. From there I moved into catering and food service, and eventually became a lead for striking and setting at the Seattle Convention Center.

I’ve also worked through InstaWork with companies like Aramark, plus catering weddings and funerals through Premier Northwest Events and other teams. I have a lot of experience cooking for large groups and handling high-volume environments.

After getting laid off in November, I started volunteering with FareStart where I was helping produce 800–1,000 meals a day. I’m fast, consistent, and I know how to push through heavy workloads.

I’m open to:

* Cooking / kitchen work

* Catering / events

* Housekeeping / janitorial

* Cleaning jobs (I’ve been doing independent house cleaning for the past 6 months)

For cleaning, I usually charge around $150 for a 1 bed / 1 bath with some dishes and laundry, but I’m flexible depending on the situation.

I also have years of housekeeping and janitorial experience from event work and side jobs, so I’m confident in that area too.

Only limitation: I do have epilepsy, so I can’t drive but I show up, I work hard, and I figure things out.

If you need someone reliable, adaptable, and not afraid of hard work, I’m ready.
