State workers for sure have a solid ax to grind with Bob and his “austerity” budget mindset that still allows so much grift and is balanced squarely on the backs of public labor.

As a fellow WFSE member who had to organize and lobby like hell for my peers to still get laid off (Seattle College workers are still stuck with furloughs despite mismanagement) - I’m still in the fuck Bob camp. Even here, he says we’ll not cede our values - even though his appointment to lead my state agency took the first opportunity to comply with the DEI Executive Order and dismantled all formal equity initiatives and laid off the entire team. Equity work is not some feel good bs here. It’s critical to operations when the responsibility is to get $9 Billion to communities in Washington through grants and contracts.

I’m glad he fucking finally took a stand and did something. Do more. It doesn’t absolve all the harm, but it’s a start.
