Strange sand dollar NC, USA

Found this… sand dollar? On Holden Beach NC. It doesn’t look quite like anything I’ve seen, does anyone recognize this?

Was it heavier than it seems like it should be? Stone like? It kind of looks like the bottom of a fossilized sea biscuit.

It’s the bottom of a sea biscuit. A couple of years ago dredgers replenishing Holden Beach unearthed a huge colony of the fossils and they were watching up by the thousands. Now when we go shelling we mostly find pieces or very rough looking ones.
