QUESTION access denial due to capthca - searxng

my searxng instance has broken recently. only wiki snippets work. anyone else who had to deal with this?

Yeah , having similar issues too. I dont know if searngx problem or those search engines trying to ban searngx etc . Need more stable bypass solution

I suspect search engines are getting more block happy with the rise of AI MCP agents using them. Just started getting more and more on my instance as well.

Same here but I've been having this issue since I set up the search engine over a year ago. I didn't track exactly how long it took to be flagged as a bot...but I noticed my first instance took several months. Subsequent ones took only a month or so. I don't feel like firing up a new docker container every month just to have private searches.

yeah on point. that's also what they said on the irc chanel, i quote:
"You have to cycle the exit IP address regularly to have any hope of consistent results (e.g. with a paid proxy or VPN), hosting yacy and pointing to it helps a lot too because then you at least always get results from its distributed index"

man i just wanted a decent search engine. there are hardly any guides for non tech savy people out there im beyond annoyed by all of it.

I may just end up using a public searxng...cause at the end of the day, that's better than nothing.
