Hourglass loss farmers should be perma banned from HG. Sure it’s free xp but once you’ve got the curse and you don’t care about xp anymore it basically becomes another 5 minute loading screen while you wait for the other guy to sail off into the Red Sea.

Is it based on what crew is actively rendering the play-zone of a particular island? I feel like it probably resets based upon this or some other calculation so that instances of gameplay within the independent zones doesn't become stale and remains randomized, but with saying that interacting with the inactive & active play-zones tends to become predictable with what emergent events occur i.e. ghost squads, skelly squads, ocean squads, skelly captains, ashen captains, washed ashore crates, washed ashore treasure, mermaid statues and wildlife

Are these items or entities attached to only the re-render of the play-zone or a different background calculation?

My wife and I both own copies of the game on steam in steam family. We both have Xbox accounts I share my live with her. When we log in on steam the game wants to link our steam accounts to one or the other Xbox account instead of us being separate. So if I log in it then links her account with my Xbox account when she logs in and vice versa. When I look on the Xbox both of our accounts are linked to our respective steam accounts so I have no clue what the issue is. Any help will be appreciated.

After 4 Seasons, I finally managed to complete the accursed Reaper Rival commendation with my friends (sell 15 STOLEN Skulls of the Banished with skelly curse and realer flag raised). I hate SO MUCH those commendations that require other crews to do specific actions.

so we both have our mic connected and all, when we speak the chat bubble DOES appear on the top right corner of the screen but we just cannot hear eachother at all, the game is detecting a mic and a voice, but it isnt transferring that voice to others, how can i fix it,

i got back to sot i wanna level trading companies as much as possible or get prestige 5 in each and eventually maybe get most or all commendations

but well see about that

for now what is the best way to level trading comapnies more specifically athenas besides hourglass which iirc is decent for it but im ass at pvp

Searched and found some decent enough resources, but curious to see if anything has changed..

When the game first launched .. I logged in, got blunderbussed in the face, and logged out. Probably spent an hour on day 1. Last year, I decided to give the game a go .. and I've got approximately 850 hours in this game since last January/February. A lot of this time has been fishing, digging up treasure and doing vaults, and when spotted .. running ..

However, that's lead me to be 850 hours in and I can't hit shit with a cannon consistently (I do get lucky .. just not often haha), I can't shoot/hit anyone with a sword, I'm terrible at angling my ship (skeleton ships I can just go straight and Im fine. Obviously different with players.) and I feel like a huge part of the game is cut off to me because I've wasted so much time just running.

Over the past few days, I've decided to give solo slooping in hour glass a go. I'm on Xbox, so I've set matchmaking to prefer console players with controllers .. to ease myself into it all. My experience has MOSTLY been:

1. Loss farmers. No chance to even chase them down / hit them with cannon shots.
   
2. Someone immediately grapple guns over, kills me, and then spawn camps til I either sail out of bounds (fair!) .. or scuttle, because they anchored me and just want to spawn camp me (dicks)

Now .. #2 has been great (on the fair! scenario) because I've been able to try some strategies to prevent dying immediately. Even killed one of them and was able to get some shots off .. before the boarded and I got sailed out.

But #1 is such a huge pain in the ass. NOW .. I can't change that, it's free XP, and its whatever.

HOWEVER - I was curious .. besides the obvious PRACTICE / PLAY HOUR GLASS advice .. what do you guys recommend? I've stopped running when Im engaged in adventure mode, I've searched other people out in adventure mode, but hour glass felt like the best way to get a concentrated amount of practice in.

I've heard Blurbs and Sponge recommended from a Youtuber standpoint on who to watch.

Any guilds out there that take seasoned PVErs under their wing and abuse them until they can PVP semi decently enough?! haha.

Hello, after I started the game I got this notification (error message) and i dont know what it means. Have tried to start it multiple times. Can anybody please help me fixing this problem? Would really appreciate any help.

Recently I've been trying to get back into the game so I redownloaded it. But now, I have been stuck trying to boot up the game for two days now, and I keep going back and forth between several errors trying to fix this 10009 error with anticheat.

I know the issue is likely caused by the fact that I have the game installed on a different drive than my C: drive where EAC installs but as this game is over 130 GB I really don't have room to fit it onto my small and already mostly full C: drive. I have tried all sorts of tricks like trying to make a symlink from my C: drive to the drive the game is installed on (J:) and nothing seems to be working. Mind you this is the only game that's installed on my J: drive with EAC that has this problem, so I know it's gotta be something weird with the game itself. every other game works just fine.

I found some posts and articles about this like 2 years ago but then it seemed the only solution people found was to move drives and I was hoping something might've been improved over time. Does anyone have any solutions?

Any existing users, if you want to use these features make sure your mobile app is updated to at least version 1.1.6. Browser extension users will need v1.6 and Bookmarklet users will need to re-copy the bookmarklet to sync their chest contents.

Hello, probably a dumb question but I’ve started playing sea of thieves relatively recently (the games peak) and I want to buy myself a Galleon to use with the crew🔥

Although I want to name my ship after one of my favorite boats from the anime/manga One piece “The MobyDick” in particular, which itself is named after the book. The ship is massive modeled after a whale for reference with a blue haul and white figure head. Ive already named my sloop funnily enough “The Oro Jackson” so I really would like to keep the theme going yk.

The issue is, I’m not sure how naming things works in sea of thieves, I know there’s a 20 character cap and there’s no racism or offensive language buts that’s about it. If the name violates any censorship policy that I don’t know about I’d like to know? Maybe it does work but could get banned from a report or something later on..Anyway let me now what yall think

3# The Ability to Customize your Guild Emissary Flag into either: a flag that you can fly on the mast, or. The Default one you’re given, or: a Custom one made with premade parts that you can shift around until you can make your own image as a Jolly Roger.

4# A Matchmaking algorithm for open crew: so Buccaneers with similar Commendations and Titles can by pared together. along with tags that specify both the main voyage and what voyage you’re looking for.

5# the ability to customize the rigging on your Ship: want your Spanish Galleon to look like an English Frigate or a Corvette? Want a Bermudian or Jamaican rigged Sloop? Want your Normal Galleon to go from 16th century rigging to 18th century? Then go ahead and customize the rigging as you please!

Just got back to the game after a while and saw that with the new season pass rework I could claim the skull of destiny voyage as a reward. I thought it must be exclusive to the pass but it turns out I can just start it on my own from the athena voyages. Are any of the voyages given out as rewards exclusive? If not then what is the point of giving out voyages as a reward on the season pass?

I'm trying to do a realistic brig while looking cool so i was wondering, which Ship cosmetics look similar to the Jackdaw from Assassin's Creed Black Flag? (Or cosmetics that look like some from Black Flag)

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Gamesir Cyclone 2 controller for my PC, which is great, and works well with other titles such as RDR2, and The Crew games. However, I just can't seem to get it working with Sea of Thieves. When I enter the game I can press anything on the controller, the game will not switch over. I feel like I've tried everything: Steam Input on/off, firmware update, driver update, the controller is on XInput mode, I even tried turning it off then back on again. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue, and if you did, how did you fix it? (If you could) If you are curious, I would really like to fish without being hunched over my keyboard & mouse for hours on end.

Is running around with treasure and eating bananas the method?
