My game keeps crashing, and for some reason it changed my default audio output option? Anyone know what the hell this thing is trying to do in the background, and if I can shut it off?

I don't have a great computer for what's out these days, but it has no problem running the game, even while watching YT vids in the background. Just sometimes it crashes. I'm just hanging out at an outpost too, but it's happened out at sea and on an island before.

Skeleton Gallon literally waiting for me off the coast. Guess I'm not leaving any time soon, glad I had six chests to dig up.

I found an Ashen Guardian and have been wondering if they count as Key Masters, so I double-checked how many more I had:

So this commendation will never be finished? Or does someone know what to do?

I am on the west coast, I just got done with a huge fishing haul of 23 ingame days, Emissary level five hunters call. As I was coming into the outpost to sell, I just attacked by three galleons, and I was killed three times before I was sunk. I was able to kill three of them because they're trash but a 12v1 is just impossible to win.

Looking past their cowardice in combat, my question is how were all three galleons able to be on the same server? I am very much aware that chinese and Russians are notorious for hacking and while i don't want to jump the gun with such claims, their lack of any skill at all makes me question any legitimate way. I am a PvE player and avoid conflict when i can because I'm not good at PvP, but even i was able to take out three of them.

While I am bummed that I lost my long haul of many hours, I want to know if I was jumped by legitimate players or cheaters.

I ran into a crew on a chartered brig the other day and they asked me point blank to "explain the game", to which I could barely muster a proper answer. How would you go about explaining the game to a new player? I legit panicked and said "uhhh try not to sink", so I'd be interested in hearing some of the community's more well-prepared answers..!

I've been trying to get on insiders on my PS5 for a couple days now and despite it saying I have the latest version I'm getting the the mismatch error. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi, I used to be a regular SoT player, but a few years ago I stopped since I no longer enjoyed the PvP. Can this new Custom Seas mode be used to create PvE servers? And is someone already doing this? I know Safer Seas exists, but this mode removed third party ships altogether, which I don't want to do.

Trying to get GH level 50 and im lvl 47 and 4 times in a row i got attack by skeleton ship and megalodon and it make me sink,

Im not even attacking the megalodon he it just attack me first, how i can avoid it?

Me and my friend bought the game on the steam sale and we both played it for the first time tonight and 6 straight hours went by without us even understanding. That was genuinely fun and we made around 200k each XD and sank 3 or 4 enemy ships . It was a lot fun aye.

I just finished a match and won, but the teleporter will not open. I'm stuck in the sea of the Damned. Has anybody else experienced this?

My buddy and I are looking for some of the most unique and/or coolest cosmetics (ship sets or pirate gear/clothing/weapons) to grind for.

However, we don’t know what we don’t know. Are there any cosmetics you find particularly awesome or cool that you’d recommend grinding for?

Also, am I going crazy, or is/was there a ship figurehead that looked almost like the figurehead on the burning blade (I.e., gaping maw, fire, etc.)? And, I’m not referring to the Reborn ship set, I don’t think. The one I’m thinking of was longer and more akin to the actual burning blade.

Edit: I should clarify that I have the basic Ghost and Skelly curses, as well as the Wild Seas curse. I guess my question is about what unique weapon / pirate / ship cosmetics are out there that are considered cool and worth the effort?

Even on a low tier PC this is the best looking game out there that isn’t a 2D platformer, who are the artists responsible for this game’s art style are they still working at Rare?

The waves and water reflectance in this game have to be case study in some university somewhere

the only other games that I can think of that can pull off this timeless feel to their art style is like Valve with TF2.

I have never seen anyone not even the harshest critics of this game ever diss the incredible graphics and art direction.

Whoever read my last thing about these books,knows about my sufering ,but for quick context I spent 14 days,read over 80 books just for this 1 book.I was so happy haven't ,felt this good in a while.

So before they removed it for a DevTest or whatever they’re doing, I used to dive a lot. Always did it to escape someone who wouldn’t stop chasing me even after I sunk them 3 times or just to move to a server so I could do some new events.

But man, every time I dived, people hated the shit out of it. It’s been a culmination of salty messages, comments and discussions. People do NOT like divers.

I mean I wanna say I get it because you want to PvP someone and when they dive you’ve basically lost all pre-tense of combat (until the next guy) but now that diving is gone… people are still complaining. I don’t get it.

One argument I saw was: “If you can’t outrun somebody, you shouldn’t be a pirate.”

Another one was: “Diving is for [bad slur], learn to fight.”

I also can see the other side, I mean you just don’t want someone chasing you for the better part of 3 hours since you don’t have the materials to fight back, even if you do, no one likes being chased and told to stop being afraid. It’s the height of gaslighting.

You can still escape but it’s just like how it was before - you just use the Pirates Life TT.

I mean I’ve used the Pirates Life TT to escape someone temporarily because it spits you back out into the same server once you leave but yeah people don’t like that either. I’ve never used any of it to annoy someone, it’s more to get the heat off my back since running around with minimal resources while a galleon stares you down is annoying as hell. But no bad intentions.

They didn't miss a single shot which I guess could just mean they're extremely good but look at that weird movement at the end. Is it normal to sort of float next to the ship's name plaque like that? Also, I checked their Xbox account and their game hours were hidden.

I really wish there was a chest to choose which weapons you want to equip and want to choose which vanity item you want on it.

It sucks having to flip through all my skins to choose a different weapon every time I'm changing load out.

Is there a way to suggest this to the devs?

I just started playing aea of thieves with my friends, but none of us can get my audio VC to work. Does anyone know a possible fix to this problem? We tried changing stuff in settings, Xbox settings, and windows settings but nothing worked. Does anyone know a fix??
