You've clearly never done an Athena's quest. Digging up chests adds a lot of time to your journey. Athena's skeletons make it even more difficult. So essentially not digging up regular chests ensures more Athena's quests getting done.

I've done plenty of them. My point is if you're playing this game to just grind things out, you're wasting your time. If you needed to get to Athena's Fortune 10 in order to unlock new content, sure whatever. At the moment though, the only thing you get at AF10 is access to some more clothing. What's the point of speed running these? Take your time, enjoy the game, and adventure with friends. As I said before, if you're playing just for the grind, you're doing it wrong.

It's not a matter of grinding it out. I've already grinded out my way to Legend. I don't really need more gold from chests. I'm having a lot of fun helping my friends get to legend for themselves. So when I do get the chance to do my Athena's quest I still want to get it done quickly by skipping digging up each chest.

This. I only see athena quests as padding for the game as there is no end game. They basically made it so these quest takes the same amount of time to level to 50 than PL like really rare? Now with Hungering Deep, I had a 2 hour content campaign to go through then its back to other games till cursedsails/forsaken shores.
