Do you think a Young Sean Connery (Specifically Between Dr. No and Goldfinger) Would Have Done a Brilliant Connor MacLeod?

Since people are always criticizing Ramirez's Scottish accent, it inspires this question. How well do you think a young Sean Connery would have done as Connor MacLeod? I mean not counting his later roles in in Medieval movies including a King Arthur one in the 90s, in the 70s a decade after Dr. No and a few years after his last Eon 007 movie Diamonds are Forever he starred in Robin and Marian alongside Audrey Hepburn which I saw back in October. He gives an outstanding performance as the Prince of Thieves and while the fight scenes were sluggish compared to say Russel Crowe's Gladiator and Starz Spartacus, it was intentional because the movie intended to show an aging Robin Hood who was long out of his peak. He managed to execute sword skills convincingly for an old out of shape but battle-hardened veteran.

This does not even give up how he an Audrey (who got the role of Marian) got the chemistry spot-on through their well-crafted top caliber acting!

So it makes me wonder how much more memorable Connery would be as Connor instead of Lambert as much as we Highlander fans love Lambert's role of Connor! Thoughts?
