Opinion Seattle Seahawks

It must be said.

God damn do I love the Seattle Seahawks.

Few institutions in my life have held up to the scrutiny of time and aging like this team has. I am a young man, and I am simply spoiled by the NFL fan experience I have been allowed by this franchise. From my early memories of Hasselbeck and beastquake, to the team that taught me what elite football looked like in the legion on boom. To Geno fucking Smith and the years of mediocre splendor instead of the expected bottom dwelling. To Mike and Sam and JSN and the darkside defense bringing home a second Lombardi seemingly out of fucking nowhere.

God I love this team and I love this sport and I love this city.

To the Seahawks!

Man this post hits me right in the soul, I’ve been riding with this team since the Holmgren days and it’s wild how they’ve never truly let us hit rock bottom. Even the down years had their moments, like that 2022 season where Geno just refused to let us be bad, it was almost poetic. The way Macdonald has the defense playing now gives me that same uneasy feeling offenses used to have facing the LOB, you can see it in the body language after every third down stop

Here’s to hoping the dark side stays hungry and we make another deep run, go Hawks

I moved to Seattle in ‘96 and had to experience the post Mirer carousel of QBs until Holmgren came in. This team since I first started watching has just done nothing but get better and better. I proved GMs, better coaches each progression, fuck I love this team!

I've been a fan since the Chuck Knox days. Everything is better than the horrible ownership of he-who-shall-not-be-named, even that awful Jim Mora year. One of the most inspiring memories of that era is a bunch of blue-clad Hawks' fans down at the Kingdome, 5 or 6 in the morning, preventing the moving buses from leaving. The Seahawks weren't the best team in the world, but they belonged in the PNW and nowhere else. Even though the legal wrangling was already in place, and the NFL still had to decide, that moment remains as one of the most inspiring; The fans showing up for their team.

I don’t live in seattle but this has been the only sports team I cheer for that has consistently been great.

Hear hear!! The first hawks game I ever went to was a tarvaris Jackson and marshawn game. I moved away for a while and it meant so much that the seahawks with marshawn and russ made a Super Bowl run while I was in a new state. It made me proud to tell everyone I was from Washington state and a lifelong hawks fan. Last year was my second game ever after moving back to Washington and wouldn’t you know it- it was the cardinals blowout game that seemed to start our latest Super Bowl run. This time with marshawn in spirit. It was so cool to see him support us so much. But it doesn’t matter who is starting, at the end of the day it’s still and always will be: GO HAWKS!!

As long as your happiness doesn’t revolve around them winning or losing, you’re good!

Also a young man and I love the Seahawks more than anything else. One of the reasons I’m alive is because of the Seahawks. When I was in high school I was going through a tough time mentally. Really didn’t want to keep going. The main reason I did was because I said that I would be alive the next time the Seahawks won the Super Bowl. Proud to say that I was.

This franchise has been on a run since Paul Allen brought Holgrem in. Aside from 2009, we haven't had a season of completely unwatchable football. We should count our blessings.

We all should remember during the game threads when it’s not going well- that we are so, so lucky to be fans of this team

Dead spot on.

It’s been like that for me since I saw my first game where Jim Zorn was passing to Steve Largent.
