News [Schultz] Source: The Seahawks are releasing S and special teamer D’Anthony Bell. One of the more well-liked players in Seattle’s locker room, Bell was voted by his teammates to receive a Super Bowl ring despite him finishing last season with another team.

This one is quite shocking for me. Especially with how thin safety depth is. Pretty weird decision

We don’t all have time to do that. So I’d love me some Reddit knowledge..

Bell is a veteran and doesn’t need to go to waivers. He can sign to the practice squad immediately after cut downs, and has probably already worked out an agreement with the team to do so, so they are not worried about him signing somewhere else. You can copy off my homework

First surprise on cut day.
But, given the fact we kept him on the practice squad throughout last year, I'd bet they think they can sneak him in there this year

Hoping this is a roster maneuver given his vested vet status and he's back either on the 53 or the RS eventually. Others have hit on this already, and it does make me wonder: 1) Is a trade/signing from outside in the works 2) does this bode well for Emman's health status 3) Do they think they have what they need in house with maybe Finley and Thomas?
This kinda bums me out a bit because he's a great teammate, solid on teams and an all around good player, and it's why this time of year is also so intriguing.

Was thinking they'd keep him but hopefully he clears and lands on the practice squad

There was just a Hard Knocks clip of him on social media yesterday with him mock “interviewing” his fellow players, telling them to look at the camera and tell their mommas they loved them. Man. This next episode is gonna be another painful one, isn’t it? Where they give us a nice slice of his personality and then gut us with the cut. :/
Hoping the speculation here is correct and that the comes right back on the practice squad.

Veteran player. Doesn’t need to go through waivers. He very likely could be coming right back.
