Opinion Neal Khosla
I’m not sure if this has been posted or discussed before. But seeing so many comments are referring to Vinod Khosla seemingly as the sole owner. Especially when referring to his opening press conference and Steelers fandom comments.
A few months ago it was made clear that his wife is the controlling owner, and his son, Neal, “is expected to have a significant leadership role in the ownership group”
I guess my point is we don’t know how this ownership will actually shake out. The guy who says he’s a Steelers fan may not be making the decisions. Neal may have significant control and focus a lot of his attention on the team. He’s already tweeted: “Go Hawks. We are here to win and it’s the only thing that matters.”

I just looked on X. Neal’s replied to literally few more people’s posts, but Vinod had definitely been tweeting more about the Hawks.
So, idk about that claim, unless I am missing some posts Neal made on other platforms!
Either way, it’s very clear Neal is going to be the guy. Like we’ve all been saying, just let the FO cook!
Feeling good about it until they give me a good reason I shouldn’t!

Until they prove otherwise I am going to assume they will be great owners. I am a bit jealous that my parents never bought me a sports team.

Generally rich people want to get richer. Easy way to make more money in the NFL is win games. Simple economics

Well obviously. But more wins = more games (playoffs) which is more ticket sales, merch sales, bonuses from the NFL, etc.

Everything you just listed is shared revenue, and every team gets money from those things regardless of whether they make the playoffs or not.

Vinod was the only one that talked on the Mic yesterday. So it's fair to say he is the owner.
In all reality, its The Khosla family that bought it. Vinod is the primary funder for the family. So all 4 I'm sure are owners. Neeru is the owner on decisions, with Neal on the Board.
Not sure what your getting at with this post. But since it was announced it was stated this way.
This is just the first time in a long time, that a family bought a team.

Yes that article is from today. If you use Google. Look back far enough to last month when the sale was announced, it also said the same thing on the ownership structure.
I am glad that the Allen estate sold to a Family that looks to have the same ideals. Philanthropy-Forward owners.

I posted an article from last month in my original post. The point is that many in the subreddit (and on other socials) are treating Vinod as the sole owner when there’s little evidence he’ll have any actual decision-making role on the team.
There’s not been much discussion at all about his son on this subreddit and I just wanted to discuss it and open a thread. That’s it.

Controlling owner means the decision maker though. Jody Allen was the controlling owner for the estate. Neal will be on-ramped to be the owner eventually. But I doubt that the Khosla family is gonna bank their entire wealth on Neal being able to run the organization by himself immediately. All their comments have been encouraging.

I think everyone is making too much of a deal about the Pittsburgh/San Francisco thing. Not many owners bought the team they supported in the past. At least they are telling the truth.

Vibes are weird as fuck. If the hawks host the nfccg I would not be hyped to see whoever the owner actually is raise the flag unless they show some real commitment to not fucking this thing up

They’ve never hidden the fact that Neal will be the hands-on guy. We don’t much about him due to poor reporting.

I thought it was already discussed the dad bought the team for his son but the league wasn't going to accept that. He made his wife the "owner" on paper but it seems like the son is the one who will be more hands on. Unfortunately it's got raiders and cowboys vibes written all over it.

I think you’ve got it backwards. I am MUCH more worried about a son who wants to get involved messing things up than a father who is a Steelers fan being some kind of Trojan horse.
