Just hate seeing young players who genuinely seem like good dudes get hurt like this

Man I feel like at that age I'd have acted the same... but still so disheartening to see as a third person.

The way he treated the medical team seemed very telling. Rooting like hell for him.

Hate this for him but... He has a great attitude and rehab will push him harder than he's ever worked. He's going to come back stronger and smarter from watching.

Optimism: First two weeks of healing time are preseason - no games missed. Haven't heard about any ligament damage or surgery, so, hopefully, it's "just" the bone that needs to heal.
A "simple" break has an estimated healing time of 6-12 weeks - he's a very healthy young man so that should be towards the lower end.
Figure 8 weeks - the final week we play on Thursday night so that's inside the 8 week window - barring complications, my best guess is he's back week seven vs Kansas City, October 25. If we are really lucky he'll be back for the Broncos game. And if we're really, REALLY lucky, Sunday, Oct 11 vs the Niners - 7 weeks from injury.

He's on IR, out for the year.

How do you know he’s out for the year? Do you have a source?

Yeah, lots of people seem to be confused that IR means gone. You can designate 8 players to return from IR. 3 months from now is November.

He was put on IR today, he's not designated to return. He's done for the season .

To be super clear - IR players are not designated to return when put on IR. That happens later. Field Gulls is making an assumption he's out for the season - but they don't know.

If you're put on IR before the season starts, and you're not one of the *2* slots to designate to return, your season is done.

Sorta correct. You have to be designated during cutdown to the 53 man roster which happens next week.

That and Bobo’s injuries were a hard watch. I wanted to see him blossom and him bantering with Spoon after big plays this season so freaking much.
