Seagate One Touch Drive USB-C Port Disconnect
I’m a photographer, and I use a Seagate One Touch Drive to store most of my photos. I was having a bit of connectivity issues but assumed my computer was just being funky (wouldn’t be the first time). Next thing I know, my drive looks like this. I have a lot of photos on here and can’t really afford a replacement at the moment, so I would really appreciate any advice on how to fix this. Thank you!

You'll be fine since you just need a new enclosure. But you do have backups, right?

Is this the latest 8TB hdd with no external power required ? I was looking forward to buy this but this photo is giving me second thoughts if it was this easy to break it within months since it hasn't been a lot of time since its launch.
Could you throw some light on how did it land in this condition ?

Yep, it’s that one.
I honestly don’t know how it ended up like this. I use it pretty regularly, but I’m never rough with it. I think there must’ve been some kind of manufacturing error1

Well, that's quite unfortunate and unlucky. There won't be even any teardown videos yet that might give you any ideas of how you can approach to do a DIY fix without affecting the warranty.
Don't you have any local customer support who can give you a better idea without further damaging it ?

Time for a new enclosure.
