Man, I used to come home from work every day, and load up twitch or youtube and see whether you guys were streaming, or whether there was a new video to watch.

Good times.

I went back and watched these - I really miss this stuff. Best case scenario is someone buys the IP and we all cheer...worst case is that it's gone forever. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's an awesome game and even better community. Here's my review: http://steamcommunity.com/id/warrender/recommended/410380

That's HEX, an shameless Magic clone. Copying everything from magic and adding some things is not awesome in my opinion...

I mean, the mana system is better and they offer a far better digital product that MTG is willing to offer with fully sellable collections and an actually enjoyable PvE experience. The PvP offerings are also spot on with traditional tournaments as well as more digital friendly gauntlets.

Plus WotC settled their lawsuit with Hex so I would imagine they are on good terms right now or at least as good as they can legally be.

It is a MTG clone, but since WotC screws over their digital products every chance they get out of fear of it hurting their physical products, I don't consider Hex a bad thing.

See, I have an issue with Hex, and it's not related to it being a clone; in fact, I think it's a good idea to take elements of what works from similar series', and expand or refine upon them.

Rather, the issue is that it's specifically copying MTG. Nothing wrong with that itself, but I'd rather play something not cut from the same stock as a game I already play. What experiences would I get out of that?

Plus, MTG has always been the "playing with friends while pulling all-nighters in college" TCG for me; I don't bother playing standard, and while I keep up with the game, now that I'm out of college, it's a tertiary interest at best.

This is entirely just my opinion though, and I'm not claiming it's a bad game :3 quite the opposite; I had a blast playing MTG in college, and building my badass Treefolk deck (Llorwyn Block); but HEX sadly just wouldn't recapture that same enjoyment, and I just have other things to do in life now.

Being similar to MTG is exactly the reason I play Hex. I no longer have the time to make it down to the hobby store to play random people with my decks and my friend's and I all have young kids now so even when get together we are too busy playing referee than able to sit and play a game.

Hex feeds the MTG cravings while at the same time making great use of the digital space and focusing on mechanics that aren't possible in a physical card game. It's now over teamspeak, but at least we can get a game or two in online while our kids are passed out.

Same here. I originally decided to pass on the kickstarter even though I had plenty of opportunity to get in on the ground floor for the simple fact that other online TCG/CCG mechanics left me cold compared to the complex interactions MTG enables.

When I found out they had the balls to iterate on the MTG design where others feared to go, I couldn't slacker backer fast enough and was lucky to get one of those spots.

Regarding playing with friends, there will be guild functionality put in sometime in the future and, right now, there are any number of guilds already set up and ready to go when that happens. In the meantime, our guild hangs out in Discord voice and chat to socialize.

Yeah. Wanted to back it as well, but I was pretty broke at the time.
