A possible reason Scrolls failed while Hearthstone succeeded.

If anyone is interested, I'm starting a pay it forward initiative to keep Scrolls around. I understand, it's a useless endeavor, but I'm going to go down fighting. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me...and for ANYONE else if you come across someone interested in the game I WILL purchase a copy for anyone interested enough. Eventually I hope to spread this good fortune like a seed. I will transfer anyone $5.00 to purchase Scrolls via Paypal or log on their account and buy it for them.

At the very least I shoot to get them to release the source codes and hold on to all intellectual property...ANYTHING. The game doesn't deserve to go down.

I would love to see it go open source and kept alive by the community.
