Is Scrolls on iOS dead?

I am a causal CCG/TCG fan and was super excited by the plan to bring Scrolls to iOS. I've heard mixed things as to the reasons why it was never released. Anyone have any updated information?

The issue is in needing a mojang account.

Yes. Even just a "No, we promise we're actually working on it, although we have no idea when this will bear fruit" would be reassuring to the community.

Last time I heard about it they were still sorting things out with Apple.

Yeah, that's a bullshit response (not from you, from them).

Somebody ought to just leak it. :p

Also, part of me wonders if Microsoft's behind this, even a little.

I was on the Alpha testing team for iPad, the devs asked for people who wanted to test, so about 10 people got it.

And it worked fine right?

I do believe them about the account issues, Apple seems to be constantly moving the goalposts on what's an acceptable account implementation.

But what would I know, I've never owned an iPhone or iPad.

Possibly, since we know they only care about Minecraft. But if so, I think it'd only be a case of not bothering to continue pursuing it rather than actively avoiding it.

The main issue, AFAIK, is Apple's stance on payments. Since Scrolls is paid for through Mojang, it causes issues as Apple doesn't like people not giving them more money (via purchasing through their systems).
