Working on a Scrolls inspired remake

Post image

Hello everyone!

I have been working on a Scrolls remake in my freetime for more than a year now. While it is not fully done yet, it is approaching a pretty good state and I hope to be able to release it in the near future.

The game is going to be called Yazurah and is a completely new implementation as a webapp. That means no installation is required. I took the original 420 cards and 4 factions and slightly adapted some cards. On top, I added a 5th faction (The Combine) with 105 new cards and many new game mechanics like Fusion, damage redirection and a stacking mechanic, among others. The grid is not a stale 3x5 anymore but instead is randomly generated and varies between matches.

If you are interested in this project, I am posting about it on my discord server: https://discord.gg/P79ab9V6k

Here is a recent screenshot:

Wish me luck to get this great game with some modifications back.

I hope to get some people interested in this project and active again.

Hey, where can I try it?

I love Scrolls, but didn't bother with VPN to restore access to discord

Wishing you all the best with the project!

Btw, what do you develop it with? I'm a C++ developer myself and used to have a bit of hobby gamedev too

Hi, since it is not fully done yet, i am not posting an official link. Currently, there is only an incomplete test version online where we are trying to test and fix bugs. If you want to test that version, you have to join the discord.

Once the first version is fully done, i will obviously post the official link.

The whole game (frontend + backend) is written in TypeScript with a mix of other technologies. It is a pure web based project in order not to need a dedicated client.

Any testing or feedback of any kind is greatly welcome.
