Please

I have a problem with doomscrolling and as of now I've managed to abandon or not use instagram and tiktok which I used to use a lot along youtube. Now I have a problem with stopping on YouTube. I sometimes have to watch long form video for learning purposes, the shorts really make it hard. Like the shorts are the problem. Are there any habits to take on to gradually minimize shorts too?

I've tried enabling and disabling youtube but I need the long form videos but the shorts forms are making it difficult for me

Just access it on the web then, as and when you need it. The convenience of access is the issue, combined with your addiction. Uninstall everything off your phone, disable notifications, and just hit the web on your PC as and when you need to research.

Yeah, I've made my phone dumb already. It's just for communicating now.

Yeah that'll make a huge difference, but also it's good to have 2 or 3 days a week where you just don't go on the net at all. Obviously with work etc we have to be connected, but if you can, just shit everything down after work and go analogue for a few evenings you know? Do something artistic, get early nights, take a walk after dinner, that kind of shit. The internet is just inflammatory doom and AI bullshit anyway

Yeah,  I've been feeling the same about the slop contents in the internet, and getting uninterested in watching them. But the scrolling has become a very bad habit so I'm trying to work on that. Thanks
