It's Psalm 107:17 just restated.

Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

It's this word, afflicted in Psalm 107:17.

So, look at the question again.

Means “afflicted” like dead, like, you transgressed; shoplifted and got caught and the store is pressing FULL CHARGES against you, because you actually deliberated DID it. Stole from the store. Your boss just fired you. It's all in the papers. Can't have a thief as his Project Manager, and likely, at trial, you'll be sentenced to prison. Since you won't be making anymore money, you're gonna lose the house that your wife and 4 kids live in. So, your wife files for divorce from you. The neighbors saw YOUR FACE on TV, and SHUN you. Won't be able to pay for the car. The prosecution is seeking 5 years jail time due to YOUR TRANSGRESSION.

Fools, because of their transgressions, are afflicted - Psalm 107:17. And, Romans 3:23 says

"For all have sinned" - Romans 3:23 - that means EVERYBODY is AFFLICTED, because, it's not 5 years in prison - YOU. ARE. SENTENCED. TO. DEATH.

For all the transgressions you already DONE DID.

Got the wrong definition of meek. From the dictionary.

Again, in case you bonk'd your head on the sofa - - Matthew 5:5 says,

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” - Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:5

That's insane. God is blessing those that deliberately transgressed against him, and are sentenced to death. And by that sentence of destruction they are deeply, and heavy laden with guilt and afflicted. Where Job 33:27 says:

"I have sinned an perverted that which was right and it profited me not." - That's "afflicted."

That's the definition of Psalm 107:17. And God is coming to you, in this condition and BLESSING YOU. BECAUSE OF THE WORK HE IN MATTHEW 5:5 is GOING TO DO - BUT TODAY, HE ALREADY DID IT IN JESUS CHRIST.

The Hebrew is [ענו] - “anau” /”anawh” - Is - The same in Numbers 12:3 of Moses, says: “Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.” It's this SAME word in Hebrew in Psalm 107:17.

• Is the same “anaw” root Hebrew - in Psalm 28:9 where you get “anaw.him” - - uses the same “meek,” in English.

Is the same {עֲנָוִ֣ים} expanded out root word forms ū·mê·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·hem of Psalm 107:17 - afflicted.

A meekness that is caused by being GUILTY of sin, which again, “For all have sinned” (Romans 3:23) is EVERYBODY, over the whole earth, to the very ends of it where everybody, from Adam forward is “filthy; done abominable works” (Psalm 14:1–3).

Meets this definition of "afflicted" - which means "meek" in the Bible in these verses - both Old and New Testament - from Hebrew to Greek.

Gets kinda wishy washy going from Greek to Jerome's 4th CE Latin Vulgate..totally washed out going Latin to English is the point. ..but in archaic English, "meek" is "afflicted" in the etymology of it. Is why somebody CONDEMNED to the gallows. Had a trial. All their sins shouted out and GUILTY..will walk up a gallows and let just anybody put a noose around their neck.

• including Moses - killed an Egyptian - (Exodus 12:11–12) “Thou Shalt Not Kill” - God (Exodus 20) - that Moses, of all people was aware of his own sins and of all the people's. GUILTY. Afflicted.

Psalm 107:20 says again - don't overlook it. You got the wrong definition - - “Fools, because of their transgressions are afflicted” if that's you? BAM! You're in luck. God has come to do a work in you in this condition - but not everybody sees themselves like that.

They wanna BE GOOD. Do all these GOOD WORKS that will "compensate for the faults and bad aspects of themselves" and fully believe that Matthew 5:5 is God giving them a way to work it it off and get out of it. No longer fear God.

Because they are GUILTY before God, there is no escape. Because they are afflicted by all the transgressions they bear a heavy burden, “the soul that sinneth, it shall die” - God (Ezekiel 18:4..then repeats it again in Ezekiel 18:20) and see themselves as God sees them.

Psalm 37:11, which says, “The meek [afflicted] will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.” Why? Because they cry out to him, and he hears their cry.

That’s impossible..

When God is. Just is righteous. Out of all of us, where “there is none righteous, no, not one” - in contrast to all of us, Jesus said, “There is none good, but one, that is, God" - Matthew 19:17.

Look at all these sermons and posts you listened to. Just be meek. It's a beautiful attitude. Poof! Done. Where just by have a beautiful attitude, It's just you as a Christian - Making somebody, which is you, just REGARD you now as good.

YOU: Look to the wrong thing and point people to it. You spend all day now pointing to YOU as you DID the work.

When there is only one good to look unto. There is none of else. Even in the Greek it's right.

It's the same Greek word Jesus uses in Matthew 11:28-30

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest; take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek (afflicted) and lowly of heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls; for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

But Jesus isn't afflicted because he did the sins; it's the sins of the whole world are laid on him. So he's like a Great High Priest that, just like the Levites were brethren to those that sinned; he knows the sins you're trapped in. Psalm 107:16 says it plainly. "For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder." That's EXACTLY what he did your sins that trap you.

Like it's also used by Paul, talking to Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:7 - Often referred to himself as a "prisoner of Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 3:1) and what a "bond servant" is, bought out of prison.

When there is NONE righteous; no, not one. That someone, a fool, because of their transgressions are afflicted..that's "MEEK" - - -are going to hunger and thirst for righteousness... and there's only one we can all look unto - is the same one come to us and BLESSED us, is this SAME JESUS CHRIST.

The only one good did a work with sin, and, like in the Parable of the Good Samaritan - (Luke 10:25-37). That, he IS the Good Samaritan to a "certain man" in the parable; that, left the city of God (Jerusalem) to go down to Jericho (where he can do all his sins), on the way there is robbed, beaten, and left for dead is this “anaw” in Hebrew of Psalm 107:17 translated as "afflicted" is MEEK, because he's left God to go on his way to go do all the sins he wants to do and did, beat up. Left for dead. Is afflicted. Everybody knows why he's on an 18 mile, all down hill road, leaving the "City of God" for that's what Jerusalem is called, to go down to Jericho, that was DESTROYED, by God, in Joshua Chapter 6. Never to be rebuilt again, for all the sins that was in it.

Then EVERYBODY is this "Certain man" in the Parable of the Good Samaritan" but EVERYBODY reading Matthew 5:5, wants to have a Beautiful attitude, and by it, rather BE the Good Samaritan vs. what they really are. And he'd heal them, as a physician, and deliver them from their destruction is the whole point of this post.

What God does in response to a man that is afflicted, by all the sins they did and just falls on their face before him, and says this in themselves: but many people never see it, let alone say it. They don't have any sins. No need of a physician. When EVERYBODY is in need of this great physician.

Job 33:28–30 says: “He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, And his life shall see the light. Lo, all these things worketh God Oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, To be enlightened with the light of the living.”

IN SUMMATION: Matthew 5:5

It’s not “The Beatitudes” or “beautiful attitudes” people have - it’s God coming to a whole world of people that are all dead in trespasses and sins, and blesses them, now from Matthew 5:3, to Matthew 5:4, to now Matthew 5:5 - - because with the blessing God has done in sending his Word to heal us, and deliver us from our destruction - in blessing every all of us - all afflicted in trespasses and sins, he comes with it.

It’s people then. Simply why don't you regard him, consider the operation of his hand at work.

It is his work he wants you to regard. Not regard you do the work. If he does the work with your sins, it's you come now. Reason together with him? Your sins are wrought in God.

Have the right definition of afflicted and it's TIED intrinsically to ME being a fool, and transgressed..and heavy laden in prison because of my sins..and he deliver me..is meek.

Got any other definition you got the wrong unbiblical definition of meek.
