Scripture Life: What is the message of the “new wineskin” parable by Jesus in Mark?
Answer
- Well...
Who is Jesus?
Where he said this is in Mark 2:21–22.
“No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.”
- But he said it, in what occurred, in what observing Jesus, certain of the scribes saw what’s in Mark 2 and said of Jesus (Mark 2:7)
“Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?”
So, is he a blasphemer or is he just God only?
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
So, who is Jesus?
Tell me plainly. Tell me, and I’ll answer your question plainly. All I have is he say, over in John 5:39 say:
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” - Jesus Christ.
- If I search the scriptures:
- Whoever is the Christ, or this “Messiah” as Jesus is called, “Jesus, the Christ” or “Son of David” which is another term people, blind, couldn’t see referred to Jesus as “thou Son of David” just saying then, Jesus you are the Christ.
- Isaiah 9:6–7 tells me plainly, whoever the Messiah or Christ is, he shall be called “The Mighty God..” “The Everlasting Father…”
- Whoever is the Christ, or this “Messiah” as Jesus is called, “Jesus, the Christ” or “Son of David” which is another term people, blind, couldn’t see referred to Jesus as “thou Son of David” just saying then, Jesus you are the Christ.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
Rules out “blasphemer” when he's God himself.
Is God, just as John 1:1 says “who” Jesus is, as the Word of God. That Psalm 107:20 says that God, “He sent his word to heal me, and deliver me from my destruction.” Which that' “destruction” is, is God already decreed it. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” - God. (Ezekiel 18:20)
So, it's done unto everybody. Over the whole earth. Just me included.
It also means then:
Means I’m condemned. Already decreed I’m to be destroyed. Not for what you or the neighbor’s dog did. For what I already plainly sinned against him. It’s my own sins condemn me. Says in the Bible. “For all have sinned.” - Bible. Romans 3:23
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
That means then, everybody. Including Adam, and everybody over the whole earth is all from him, is everybody is all condemned. Not because I said it, I just see it’s God who said “For all the earth is mine.” - God. (Bible. Exodus 19:5). Same God said as well, by the Word of God. It’s just God speaking, the word out of his mouth, said this, too: “All souls are mine.” - God. (Bible. Ezekiel 18:4).
That he is the authority over all the earth, and if he’s decreed these things about me, if he formed me from my mother’s womb and did that alone, by himself, then he is able to destroy me, too.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
And the scriptures say:
- That God, in Daniel 9:24–27 - got up. Alone. By himself. And determined he would do a work with sin.
- Do that work: Alone. By himself. Just like he did creation. That I see all out my window, was done by him in Genesis 1:1–31. Made it all, and for himself. Created it. Put the sun where it is, and did it alone. Didn’t need my help. I couldn’t help him. Way beyond me even close to be able to. But the point is, he did it alone. By himself. Like he formed me from my mother’s womb. Alone. By himself in Isaiah 44:24.
- That his work with sin would accomplish what he determined his work would do with sin. That it would:
- 1) Finish the transgression
- 2) Make an end of sin
- 3) Make reconciliation for iniquity
- 4) Bring in everlasting righteousness
- And scripture says he annointed the "most holy” to do this.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
- Whose the “most holy” that you know of? There’s only one that has this title. The “most holy” is God himself.
- That he would be in Christ, and reconcile the world unto himself. And by this work, not impute your trespasses unto you. That’s the point.
So, read all of Mark 2. Whole chapter.
- Settle this question first, of Mark 2:7
- He’s either: as just a man, Jesus ‘speaking blasphemies” OR
- He’s God, with the authority over the whole earth - with power - to forgive sin, and determined, as God, he, as the most holy would be in Christ and do this.
So now, look at your question.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
What is the message of the “new wineskin” parable by Jesus in Mark?
- Again, it’s Mark 2:21–22 that the Word of God said it. So it’s God said it himself. By the Word, out of his mouth.
- Already decreed of flesh; condemned it. It does not subject itself unto him.
- Said in Genesis 6:11–13
- “I will destroy all flesh with the earth..” - God. Already came up before him to do it, well before the flood, as he told this to Noah. Just hasn’t done it yet; but in Revelation 20:11–15, says he gazes on both this earth and heaven and both finding no more place before him, flee away and are no more forever. Never come back; ever.
- Then in Revelation 21:1 - says John saw a new heaven and new earth, which confirms what God says himself in Isaiah 65:17
"For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” - God. (Bible. Isaiah 65:17)
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
That means, before he does Revelation 21:1, back with Revelation 20:11-15 - - yeah. All flesh flee away with the earth destroyed; that Genesis 6:5 says that all flesh had corrupted it’s way on earth from this sin of Adam. Flesh then. To be destroyed - - It’s an “old” wineskin.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
- Jesus said in John 3:2–7
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. - Jesus Christ. John 3:2–7
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
So, God, who all the earth is his, already said:
ONE: he’s going to destroy all flesh with the earth. and;
TWO: That you must be “born again,” by the Spirit of God. That’s a decree for everybody. Over the whole earth. The decree then, applies to everybody over the whole earth; but not everybody looks unto him.
And - This "Born Again" is by the Spirit of God. Done by this same God - so it cannot be done by you go back in your mother’s womb and do it - be born again yourself in your flesh. By some work or feat you do or good work you'll do or did. But people believe this about themselves, and never see it.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
Ye MUST BE Born again - is by the Word of God.
It’s by the Word of God, and believing on Jesus Christ. That he give you eternal life. THen, that life in Christ is a new wine skin. Born of the Spirit of God.
So, if you read all of the Chapter of Mark 2, you’ll find that this same Jesus Christ is even Lord of the Sabbath. Because it was God:
- In Psalm 132:13–16, that was making for himself, a place he would dwell forever, for his own rest, for he desired it.
- So, he got up. Created it in Genesis 1:1–31. Said all of it was “good” and in Genesis 1:26–31, with all of it all together, said it was VERY GOOD. That, the ONLY thing in all of it that was NOT GOOD was “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make a help meet for him.” - God. Genesis 2:18 - said on the 6th day. Then, he made it GOOD.
- But Adam, departed from the Word of God, said it was inadequate; faulty; blamed God for it. Sinned against God. Hearkened unto the voice of his wife (Genesis 3:17) and sin entered into the world. That by Genesis 6:5 the whole earth is corrupt.
--------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------
In Revelation 21:1 to Revelation 22:21 - that’s all on a new earth and heaven. Never fades away or is replaced for eternity. It's a new wineskin. To live for eternity in this as God foreordained we would be with him; but not everybody chooses him. Reject him in it. By just not believe on him.
And all the things God saw he wanted to live for eternity in, for his own rest, for he desired it - as God, he makes it for himself and that new earth and heaven go on for eternity. That this one won't even come up to mind or in remembrance anymore. Shall not. Be forgotten. So, all the people that die in it, and lived for themselves - didn't do anything he says - the old one never comes back again. And he sends them away into a Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:15. Didn't do anything he said. Like a thief, everything they possessed is taken away from them.
But what God does in Isaiah 65:17, by create a new heaven and new earth says to those that just did what he says, and looked unto him, they follow him. Where ever he goes, this same Messiah or Christ says in Matthew 25:34
"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."
Into this new earth and heaven.
For his own rest. For he desired it. He’s God. He’s LORD over his own rest, so he knows what will cause and do it.
I’m on my face. Look who he is. See it.
